Not Worth It
Spent: $11,000 in Asia

I'm 12 days post op and I'm just not sure if it was worth it or not. I'm 42 with two teenage kids, I keep myself very active, going to gym, ballroom dancing, hiking, but nothing could get rid of my loose skin, stretch marks and droopy belly button.

I hated the thought of giving up all my activities to have surgery and always talked my self out of it, especially because I looked fine in clothes, but naked I felt ugly and I really wanted to wear a bikini and show my belly button as the rest of my body was in good shape.

So I went through with the operation and right now I'm bigger than when I went into hospital, due to swelling, I swelled up so much I now have new stretch marks around my NEW belly button which made me cry, I know it's early days yet, but I also know stretch marks never go away.

I'm trying to look on the bright side, my abs should be tighter and flatter when the swelling does go down eventually.

Sorry to hear about your new extra stretch marks. However swelling is part of the process. I am 4 weeks post op and have just only got into the clothes I wore into hospital the day of the op. The swelling does take time to go down, and you really have to wait. As my sister had this operation a year ago, I know that this is a waiting game. As is was swollen for 3 months but now looks amazing! so hang in there - but keep checking with your dr in case there it is seroma or other complications.
