This is the 3rd time I've had Radiesse injected in my lips. The first time it hurt like heck even with numbing cream and swore I'd never do it again. The second time was done by another doctor who did my face/eye/neck lift. She re-did my lips while I was under to match my new face. Boy, did they look great while it lasted-about 9 months.

So I went back to the same doc and had her re-do them last week. I had 4 injections to numb me first; my lower lip wasn't too bad but the upper lip hurt so bad, tears were running down my face. I almost stopped her after she did one side of my upper lip but the thought of going around lopsided convinced me to suffer through. We won't even talk about the pain involved in manipulating the injected filler...

Right now they are swollen and starting to peel. 3 days ago I looked like a sock monkey; today I look like Daffy Duck. While I know they will look awesome soon and even though I have a very high pain threshold, I would NOT go through this again unless I'm out cold!!!

Radiesse should not be injected in the lips, our doctor said it was calcium based and would harden the lips, he injected Radiesse in my mother's nasolabial folds and Juvederm in her lips, we loved the result!
