First I have to say I have very pale skin, and my spots are light brown, not dark - which apparently are harder to remove I now know. I really don't know if they are sun spots or age spots or hormone spots or what kind. They began appearing in my late twenties and I'm now in my early thirties. I went to Soleil Med Spa in Portland, OR for one session of IPL localized on the two areas that bother me the most. The machine gives a fairly painful ZAP. Wow. I do have a low tolerance for pain but I would say this was semi painful. My bigger brown spot did get DARKER for a while and flaked away as I was told to expect. But what revealed after was the exact same brown spot as before. As for the other spot I didn't notice any change what so ever. Fortunately she gave me a great deal to try this. I was recently offered $240 to do my whole face elsewhere but I don't think it's worth it... They do offer a good deal on SmoothShapes however which I do think works...

Awe, what a bummer to not see a permanent change. Have you considered going to a dermatologist instead of a med-spa?
