66 Year Old Female Tired of Looking Tired! - Ponte Vedra Beach, FL

I am a 66 year old very active wife, mother and grandmother who has a wonderful life - but my body and mind felt much younger than my face looked. As an emergency nurse, I was hesitant to undergo elective surgery; however, several friends had neck and face lifts by Dr. Casey Rumsey at Ponte Vedra Plastic Surgery that were very successful, so I was hopeful that I could look a little less tired. I had a consultation with Dr. Rumsey and told him the things that bothered me - my upper eyelids drooped a bit, I had fine lines and "commas" around my mouth, and my neck was sagging a little. Even though my sweet husband tells me I am beautiful, I wasn't happy with these effects of aging. On May 5th, I had a face and neck lift, an upper blepharotomy, erbium laser resurfacing around my mouth, and some Bottox in my forehead and between my eyes. My anesthesiologist, Dr. Cox, made sure that the post anesthesia nausea that I had experienced with past surgeries, did not happen. I awoke after the 5 1/2 hour procedure with no nausea, sutures in front of and behind my ears, and a small suture line under my chin. Most alarming was the bright red burn all around my mouth from the laser treatment. It is nine days later, and If one looks very closely, there are faint lines where the sutures were placed - and even more impressive - there is little evidence that I had laser resurfacing around my mouth. Recuperation? I took Lortab occasionally for two days, then Tylenol a couple of times. I have slight bruising under my eyes and on my neck and a little facial swelling. I feel fine returning to work two weeks after surgery. Dr. Rumsey is so talented and such an artist - nothing looks overdone but you can definitely see the positive results. I am so happy with my eyes - they look young again. The lines around my mouth are gone, and my neck no longer sags. I am thrilled! I can't say enough about the staff at PVPS - Melissa, Dr. Rumsey's nurse, Mandee, Donna, and Beth - all nurses with past experience that helps them recognize any problem that arises. If you are even considering a face or neck lift - RUN - at lease get a consultation. Although I know this kind of thing does not equate to happiness (that comes from within), I can tell you I giggle with joy when I look in the mirror. I look like I feel inside. Than you Melissa, Donna, Mandee and Beth - you are caring and professional. You all made me feel safe. Thank you Dr. Rumsey. You are the best!
