29 Years Old Mommy of Two Breast Augmentation - Plymouth, MN

I had always said that I had wanted a breast augmentation because I was never real endowed. However I wasn't too endowed because I was typically really tiny and skinny (I was a gymnast). When I went to college I finally got some "substance" and was up to a 34B, I was thrilled! Then right after college I had my first child and nursed for 3 months. My breasts did not look the same, but eventually they actually perked back up and I was satisfied with them. Then I had my second (and last!) child in December of '11 and after nursing him for 6 months, things did not return to my normal. I lost more weight after my second child and he literally sucked the life out of my breasts! I did not feel sexy at all when I was with my husband and felt as though I looked like a boy when I was laying down. I was at my annual physical with my regular physician and mentioned to her that I had considered a breast augmentation before and she (to my surprise) said "You should do it!" She has been my physician since I was 11 and she delivered both of my children, so it's safe to say she knows my body almost as well as I do. She gave me the recommendation to go see what Dr. Jennifer Harrington in Plymouth, MN had to say and what she recommended. So, my husband and I took the trip to Plymouth in November of 2013 and spoke with Dr. Harrington. To say that Dr. Harrington made me feel comfortable would be an understatement. I never had "flashed" anyone in my entire life and for her to make me feel comfortable enough to lift up my shirt in front of a complete stranger, was a remarkable accomplishment. I remember her telling me that I had the perfect "stuff" for a breast augmentation. I knew she wasn't just saying this so she could get me to do the procedure, because she was very frank with what would and wouldn't be good ideas for my body shape and size. She understood that I was a mom, a wife, and a working professional. I didn't want people to look at me and say "Hey, her boobs are totally fake!" After our consult, my husband and I decided that if this was what it was going to take to get me to get back into a swimsuit and feeling comfortable, then this is what we were going to do. I scheduled the surgery for March 5, 2014 and was EXTREMELY nervous!!! My regular physician who did the pre-op physical even had that in her notes :) I had never been under general anesthesia before and was so nervous something terrible would happen even though I was a healthy individual. The surgery was about one hour long and I'm happy to say nothing terrible or bad happened at all! And honestly, I was not in a lot of pain at all, even during the first night. I feel as though I have a pretty high pain tolerance so this may have played a role as well, but honestly, for me the pain was very manageable. I stopped taking the pain medication a couple days into it because I could handle it. It's now a year later and I could not be more happy with this decision for our future. I now am comfortable in a bathing suit and clothes fit me so much better in general. I went into surgery with an A cup and now am a full C/small D. I know that sounds like a drastic jump, but honestly it's not. If anything I wish they were bigger, that's how much I love them! I can not say enough great things about Dr. Harrington and her staff and the care that they took with me. They answered all my questions either on the phone, via email, or in person. They have been there through the whole process for me and I recommend her and her staff to everyone I talk to. You are in great hands with Dr. Harrington!!!
