Smart Lipo: Stories

I got a Groupon for a Smartlipo, which was like 80% off the price of one area. My stomach is the problem area - it never goes down no matter how slim I get, and right now I'm far from slim - 5'7 and 197 lbs - so I look really pregnant.

2 weeks before Procedure: I went for my evaluation and talked to doctor. Decided on the upper and lower abdominal. They gave a bunch of handouts and prescriptions for valium painkiller like tylenol and antibiotics. the handouts included the warnings which state that you might not lose any weight, and your stomach might not go down, etc. I wondered why the heck would I get the procedure if it doesn't make any difference? I already paid for one section anyway so I had to do it. All over the office they said that it involved no pain or general anaesthesia so you only get a numb in the area and can go back to work right away. I scheduled the appt for Dec 23rd early so that I could go back in to work afterwards. I stopped taking all other vitamins,aspirin and ibuprofen until the procedure.

Day of Procedure: Per the instruction, I took one of the pain meds and one of the valium pills. Then the doctor marked me and started the procedure. It was not what I thought. I felt everything. The pricking and sticking to get the local anaesthesia in was painful. The laser pricked and burned me so much so I was squiggling and the doctor stopped and asked me to calm down. He left the room and came back to finish up. The suctioning out of the fat was horribly painful in some spots. The whole time I was sweating and crying and yelling. I asked for some more of the valium and pain meds but they said I already had one (I don't know why I couldn't have more since I was experiencing so much pain already). It was worst than child labor which I had completely natural. I don't think they gave me enough local anaesthesia to numb the pain. Maybe it was because I paid such a cheap price for a procedure that should cost a lot more.

4 days After the procedure: I have only gained weight and have seen no good results. My stomach is bruised all over, and am wearing the compression garment most of the time, but it's not that tight. My stomach looks fatter than before the operation.
