I had laser lipo done on August 30 (upper, lower abs, under chin, flanks and saddle bags) and although there have been moments when I have questioned my decision to have the surgery done, I know that each day that passes is another day closer to looking and feeling great. Today is approx 10 days post surgery. I am in NO pain, I am walking around and driving (going back to work on 9/12). The hard parts have been wearing the compression garment 24/7 (except in the shower) and having to massage the lipo'd areas twice a day for 10 mins each time. It's not the time that is the problem but because your skin is healing, you are still numb in places and for me it feels a little 'creepy' massaging the numbed areas.

I am following doctor's orders to the letter because I know that the more I do, the better the outcome will be. If you go into the experience knowing that it will require input from you (mentally and physically) you will not regret your decision. Just know that you will be sore afterwards, you will be bruised afterwards and you will probably feel nauseous for a while afterwards - but it's well worth the effort on your part. Your eating habits AND your gym habits will have to improve drastically because if they don't, you may as well take your money, burn it and not have the surgery. The fat may not come back immediately but over time you will put the weight back on in places you didnt have lipo'd.

Im almost a month post surgery and I feel better every day. I have no more bruising - although I am still swollen (expected) and numb in certain areas (expected). I am still thrilled that I had the procedure and I have no reservations in recommending it. I had a bit of a struggle motivating myself to get back to the gym (expected) but I broke the drought this weekend and Im back to normal!

My rating:

Extremely professional practice; without exception all the staff were helpful and supportive. Aftercare wonderful, doctor answered all my questions; my phonecalls were always returned timeously. I had the option of staying over at a facility close by (for a small extra charge) with a nurse at my side and Im thrilled I did. She checked on me throughout the night and gave me my meds - it was worth the extra money.

Thanks for sharing your story and tips, Debi. You're so right about healthy habits -- lipo is not a quick fix; only one part of a bigger picture! I'm glad everything has turned out well for you.
