Im not a plastic surgery addict, but I am an attractive 60-something woman. 10 years ago, I decided to do something to help maintain that. I went to a well-known dermatologist who convinced me I could have less wrinkles and a slight tightening around my eyes, through a fat transfer procedure (a very simple procedure with little down- time, so she said). The down- time, however, lasted 10 years and cost thousands (and thousands) of dollars to undo. During that time I had eye surgery, as well as a face lift. Both were performed by a surgeon, who was by far, the most expensive in the city. I learned, after morphing into The Joker, with chronically infected, severely dry and drooping eyes, that excessive rates are not an especially reliable criterion for surgical prowess. Although no one even dared suggest surgery to rectify either of my maladies, they did inject me with Botox and every other marketable filler in their office. All were to no avail. It was only Dr. Hurwitz who knew
