I had dark stripes of dark pigment on my neck from sun damage as well as broken capillaries on my chest, a genetic problem. After 5 IPL treatments, the discoloration on my neck was reduced by about 50%; disappointing after being promised the treatment would eliminate it. Although it worked on the broken blood vessels, I will have to have IPL on occasion to keep up with this reoccuring problem.
It's important that your expectations are realistic and that the claims being made by the practitioner are also fair. I'm not happy with the outcome on the neck, happy with the chest. Be aware, as well, that any claims that IPL tightens and lifts are unfounded. It's primary purpose is to reduce skin discoloration.
