Decided to have a much needed mommy makeover! My surgery was on 2/22/2011. Had a breast augmentation and full tummy tuck. Was told by my plastic surgeon that I was to spend the night in the hospital which I would definitely recommend for anyone having both procedures at once. Was in a continuous pain pump. Dilaudid every 10 mins. It was glorious..no real discomfort. Went home next afternoon. Had to wait till I could void on my after the urine catheter came out. Took me awhile.

Slept on my recliner that night. Was rough because I had such crazy cotton mouth that I was constantly drinking therefor constantly peeing..no fun! I was up all night. Second night I opted for my bed. Slept on ,y back of course with pillows under my knees and arms. Iced my belly every couple of hours. It felt really good.

Out of the 2 procedures I only really felt discomfort from the tummy tuck. I had a 4 inch muscle separation so naturally there is going to some pain.

Oh and I managed not to sneeze for like a week..talk about pain ugh..always hold a pillow and splint your abdominal incision if you feel it coming on.

So I'm three weeks out and feel really good! Loving my results more & more as the days pass.

A little about me I'm 30 years old. A mother of two. A 9 year old and a 19 month old. Gained 80 lbs with both my pregnancies!! Im currently 5ft 4in and 123lbs

Next on my list is to start toning up this new awesome bod I have :)

Ok so I went out to get fitted for a new bra and I'm shocked that my size didn't change after my 300cc implants seems crazy to me! Was and still am a 32DD. The saleswoman said I am really a 30DD but they are hard to come by. They fit more snug around the band. Still bought a new one just because I felt as though I deserved a treat ha.

My only real gripe are my dog ears :(
Doc wants to wait till I am at the 3 month mark to decide if she needs to correct them. Pretty sure she will. Which also means extending my scar and Im so happy with the lenght of it so I will be sad to see it extended but eh, whats a girl to do?? On tuesday I will be 6 weeks post op. I feel great and find it amazingly strange/awesome that I dont have to walk around 24/7 sucking in my gut anymore. I have to keep reminding myself that I dont have to do that!

Updated on 4 Apr 2011:
Well just found a stich the PS must of forgot under my breast. Sniped and took it out...guess that was the right thing to do!! Six week spost op tomorrow..I cant believe it!!

So my PS office called today and asked if I'd be interested in doing video interview on mommy makeovers and how they are on the rise. Dont know if I can do it. It's a little nerve racking! Dont know what they will do with the video? Its was the board that called and asked her if she had any MM young MM patients. I have to make a decision by tomorrow ehhhh we shall see.
On a side note I feel great! 100% back to normal. My scar is calming down a bit. Im 7 weeks post op tomorrow :)

2 month check up went good. Doc is pleased with everything and she said she can tell my scar is going to fade nicely. Which made me happy!! She also recommended I just use sunscreen on my scar. I will probably still continue to massage it. Im due back to see her the end of may and we will see how my small dog ears look then.

3 monthsh post op! I really cant believe it's been that long. Feel fabulous & looking good..ha so I think :) Posting a few new pics. I've been working my abs. Looks like I'm starting to get some definition Yaya

Updated on 19 May 2011:
Oh and yes my scar is still red and even redded after I work out. Just finished my first tube of Kelpcote and wasnt real impressed with it. So now I am just massaging it with palmers oil 3x a day. I go to see my PS on Monday and I am praying she will finally clip my dog ears!!!!

Updated on 23 May 2011:
Ok so 3 month check up went well. I will get my revision on August 18th so I'll be 6 months post op by then. She also told me about a product called dermablend which is a make-up like cover up for scars and other things but she said that would work well to hide my red scar for when I go to Jamaica in 6 weeks. She wants me sporting a 2 piece haha..we'll see about that :) Dermablend is sold at Macy's and Lord & Taylor. She also said if you go into macy's they will color match you and then after that you can just re order online.

blondiekj 14 Mar 2011
Awesome let us know how your appt goes! You look great!
mamas4boys 14 Mar 2011
Ahh finally! I've been waiting to see these :) You look great mama! I wonder why she had to take your vertical scar all the way up to your belly button? Regardless, it's healing really well. You seriously look like you don't have any swelling!? I still have quite a bit of swelling (which I know is expected, I'm only like 10 days post op lol) but still :/.
Let us know how your appt goes and when you think you'll start scar treatment. Did you tell me what you plan on using?
I'll probably start those silicone sheets around 4 wks. Right now I'm sticking w/ the medical tape, which helps with making the scar thin.
Don't worry about your scar though, you're gonna see how much it's gonna fade in just a few short months! :)
redhead94 14 Mar 2011
mine is thursday and i was told upfront that i would have a vertical scar. due to the same reason you were told. not enough skin to strech done. not sure how long mine will be but i am only 5'3 and very short torsoed. he acted like it wouldn't be long...time will tell, i will post afterward! you look great!
Cagirl1986 14 Mar 2011
you look GREAT!! looking through reviews makes my nervousness calm down. I'm having my TT in 7 days...
bridg0809 14 Mar 2011
Thank you! Only 7 more days woohoo! The week before my surgery flew by b/c I was trying to get everything in order before the big day since I knew I was going to be out of commission for a while! Good luck & please keep us posted!!!
Cagirl1986 14 Mar 2011
thanks! have you visited my review yet?
bridg0809 14 Mar 2011
I have read your review and I know exactly where you are coming from. I second guessed myself as well up till the very day/night before surgery!! But here I am & I'm loving it!! Take the Arnica Montana tablets as well as Bromelain it also helps with bruising and swelling and I swore by it! Only had one tiny bruise.
Cagirl1986 15 Mar 2011
yes i definatley am going to take them!!! im buying them tonight after work.
bridg0809 14 Mar 2011
Haha lovely huh lol? Thank you!! I know wah, wah about vertical scar!! The PS said I didn't have enough upper skin to pull down in order to close where my old belly button was..idk I just have to deal with it! I'm still so,so,so happy with the results! Even last night I said to my fiance how weird it was to be sitting on the couch and not have my flub hanging over my sweats haha!! As far as scar treatment I did purchase that Gelzone wrap which was pricey but I'm hoping it works. I also have scargaurd I think its called. So as soon as I get the green light it's on! I at least hope she says I can start treating the vertical one. I have a destination wedding in Jamaica in july..gotta get movin! Oh and a question about the medical tape doesn't that kill getting that off? My PS told me silvadine all over incision and cover w/ gauze so thats what I've been doing. Don't get what the silvadine is all about though b/c thats for burns. How are you feeling??
mamas4boys 14 Mar 2011
haha well we can "wah wah" all we want together :) I think I may need a revision on my vertical scar. My PS wants to wait a bit and see how it smooths out but there's still some wrinkling there, that he can most likely pull tighter and revise. I think its even an in office kind of thing, which is crazy, lol. I think bc I'm still swollen, its hard to really see what I'll look like, bc my hips are wider and my jeans aren't fitting right. So its a bit discouraging right now at times. But not having that wrinkly nasty skin, is def an improvement! I'm so impatient and its hard for me to look into the future, you know!? But I'm totally happy, its just my own issue with waiting! haha
I never heard of the Gelzone wrap!? Is it supposed to be good? The more I research diff scar treatments, the more I'm convinced that it really all depends on how your surgeon sutured you up & how you heal! Some people didn't do anything and their scars look great! You know!? But I think I'll still try silicone sheets bc its more natural and worth a shot!
Wow Jamaica sounds amazing! That's plenty of time to get that scar to fade and flatten, at least a little bit. Make sure you find out if you can let the sun be on it or not? I don't know the time we have to wait to be out in the sun?
Ugh and about the tape. Umm YES, it sucks getting off! My PS said not to change it every day, wait a few days so you're not irritating the skin all the time. And I do it in the shower and hold the skin taunt. Maybe I need to see what my other options are. lol
And I'm feeling great! I'm 10 days post op today and my husband is back to work, so I'm w/ the 4 boys and the puppy! lol and I'm moving like I always do. Fast & all the time! I don't have a choice. But I'm conscious of over extending and not lifting anything heavier than my baby.
How are you feeling? I'm assuming, great :)
bridg0809 14 Mar 2011
Oh boy home alone w/ the 4 kiddies..ekkkk!! I had a hard enough time with my one 19 month old! Your a real trooper. I was just drained for the 1st 2 weeks then gradually better. Last week was my first week with being alone with my boy. Wasn't that bad. Um about the clothing sitch..I know what you mean! I finally fit in my jeans but not super comfortably though. I am just as impatient as you. We like instant gratification :)
I think we need to keep sunscreen on our incisions for like ever lol!!
With your possible revision ughhh again I hear ya b/c I'm feeling the same way about the ends of my lower incision! Will see what she says today?? Oh and the Gelzone wrap I found out by following(watching) this girl Becky on YouTube..she has some good videos! You should check her out.
blondiekj 14 Mar 2011
So you are home all day with your 19 month old? How is that on you? How have you been doing it without picking up your little one? or can you pick up your little one? Just asking because I have a 19 month old too and not sure what to expect...
bridg0809 14 Mar 2011
Well For the first week my fiance took off from work so that was great. The second week our babysitter still offered to take him for us while he went back to work. So that was great again! Last week he was all mine for the 1st time! It was ok. I squat down and scooped him up and I still pick him up that way or sometime he will climb on my lap while I'm sitting which is ok. Im sure the PS would frown upon this but what else are we suppose to do? Just try to use legs and arms mostly and not ur core..once I start to feel the "burn" I have to put him down immediately. Ps I only pick him up to go upstairs to take a nap 2x a day. Def have help the 1st 2 weeks
blondiekj 14 Mar 2011
Thanks for all the info about what you are doing with your little one! my little guy loves to be picked up... I think having my MIL there the first few days will be a distraction for him..she should keep him busy. Also he goes to daycare during the week so its just the nights and weekends I have to worry about... I know I am hoping that by week 3 or 4 I will be able to pick him up again...

So your tummy burns when you pick him up huh? I just don't want to tear anything, that is my fear, lol!
mamas4boys 14 Mar 2011
Here's a tip when carrying your baby post TT.....hold the baby as close to your body as you can, without causing any soreness to your belly. It causes LESS strain on your core. And of course, bend your knees, use your legs, when bending down.
I have 4 little boys under 4 years old, so if anyone knows about how to take care of your kids after surgery its ME :) Plus my youngest is 7 months old! I'm only 10 days post TT and as long as I keep him close to my body AND bend over slightly (so I don't over extend my torso), its totally fine.
:) Good luck blondie!! You'll be just fine! Can't wait to see!
blondiekj 14 Mar 2011
Wow, 4 boys under 4! Don't know how you do it! Thanks for the great advice.... Sounds like you are doing well 10 days out with those little guys!
semperfimymarine 15 Mar 2011
Hey girls! So glad to see I wasn't the only one who had a baby on here! My son was a little easier I think, he was only 13 months and 20 lbs at the time (6 weeks ago) =) But I never felt burning when I picked him up, I would have freaked! I didnt carry him or anything until 2.5 weeks and it was so depressing. Then it started flying by as life got back to normal, and for the past 2 weeks I've been carrying him on my hip again, and it's fine! But like Bridg said, listen to your body, and if anything hurts or is uncomfortable, stop. Those were the words of my PS too. ;)
blondiekj 15 Mar 2011
I think it will be depressing not to pick up my little guy either...he is 23 lbs now so I am hoping I can be like you ladies and be able to pick him up after 2 or 3 weeks! Especially having to go back to work after two weeks I will be back on drop off and pick up duty for my son going to daycare... Hope I won't need other people's help for very long...

Thanks for the advice!
Mommy of 4 15 Mar 2011
My baby boy is 13 months and 22 pounds! I'm sure I picked him up way before I should have but I always tried to be careful doing it!
mamas4boys 14 Mar 2011
Oh and Bridg...haha you're right, instant gratification at its finest right here!! :) I'm the WORST with that. lol
Funny you mention Becky from YouTube, I actually saw her videos when I was researching before my TT. Good stuff. It's always nice to see other people's journey's. As long as you know, that yours will be unique in its own right. But I'll go back and see what she says about Gelzone. Thanks!
Cagirl1986 15 Mar 2011
i watched her stuff too!
