Fraxel Laser: Worth it
Pain: Painfree
Ok I will start why I had the fraxel done, It was also for scaring, some sun damage but mainly scaring. My first treatment they used a blue dye and numbing crream which was left for an hour before the procedure started, I found the procedure bareable pain wise not much at all, and results were good but still needed at least another one, I had another one done today, only on the cheeks but this time with the upgraded model, which goes deeper into the skin, didn't feel any discomfort at all, and the best part of this machine is that you do not apply the blue dye with this procedure, I'm still waiting for the outcome, but was informed it will be a much better result then if I was done with the other fraxel machine as that went up to 700 and this one goes up to 1500 and I was done with 55 in strength but it goes up to 70, the other machine goes up to 40, and I was hit with 35 last time. I have had no discomfort what so ever up to right now, just a little red and I gather I will swell tomorrow alot. So anyone interested having this done do your research first so you are done with the best equipment. I was the first person to be done with this new Reliant high speed machine, and I had the procedure at Australian skin clinics Gold Coast, they are great. been going there for years for dermabrasions found the results of that not good enough for me, and I'm not severe. well thats my feed back on fraxel, it depends on which one you are used with, I was fortunate to be done with the new release today.

There are 3 Fraxel lasers. Refine, Restore and they just approved Repair. Do you happen to know what one you had? It sounds like either Restore or Repair. Repair you don't do more than twice, they say. However, there is more down time, (approx 7day) and there sounds like it's a bit more than just a "sunburn" effect. Any info would be helpful since I might me doing the Repai in May,

Hi, I found your review helpful as I'm going to be getting fraxel on hypertrophic scarring - one question (for anyone else here who has done the procedure on scarring - especially hypertrophic scarring - how long have you noticed the sensitivity and darkening of the skin to last? What sort of reduction do you see?
