Surgery again!

Well here we go again. I had a gastric sleeve done may 2014. I actually had it done in Puerta Vallarta, MX due to insurance issues and not wanting to wait. I developed severe acid reflux, not my surgeons fault, which I have been taking different medicine for 2 years. My doctor here in the US is the same from begore Dr. John Morton at Standford and he adviced me that a revision to a bypass was the only guaranteed way to fix the reflux, so here I am getting ready for a bypass on Monday. Im not feeling nervous or anythibg, mainly because i had this type of surgery before and did really well. I am 5'5 1/2 and weigh about 204. My weight loss was about 55lbs and then the reflux hit and everything stalled. I have maintained but not loss anything. The only qualm I have is I was planning a tummy tuck before this summer and now i will have to wait. That sucks but im making my peace with it. Feel free to ask any questions and hopefully I can be a help to anyone out there in the same boat.

One month post op

So, im 4wks post op from my sleeve gastrectomy and I feel good. I had it done in Puerto Vallarta, MX and it was a wonderful experience. The city is so beautiful and the Marriott Casa Magna Resort is very nice and luxurious. My first night was a bit rough due to the infamous gas, but the next day I was able to walk and it got better. I still get real exhausted sometimes, but not like I was. The hardest part now is trying to keep all the supplements on a schedule and deciding what to eat. I'm beyond tired of soups and I have started pureed foods like streamed veggies the last two days but it feels weird eating anything worth substance to it. The water is eau as long as u remember to sip all day. I'm never hungry, but I can tell when my stomach is empty. It's a word feeling but its never hunger. I try to eat every 3 hours to get in 6 meals, but for the past two days I have only managed 4. I have lost 28 pounds so far! YAY!!! I start a light workout tomorrow, a little weights on arms and legs. I will wait at least two more weeks for abs. I walk everyday for at least 2.25 miles(distance around the lake). I tried two times around one evening and the next day I was extremely weak, so one it is for now. I will post pics in a little bit. Feel free to all me any questions. TTYL!!!

Two weeks away

I start my pre-op diet tomorrow! My surgery is April 22nd. I chose to go to Mexico and have my surgery. My insurance wanted me to do a 6 month diet, but ive dieted for several years, so I researched and found a good surgeon that is board certified in the US and MX. Im paying out of pocket. Im so excited to get started. Oh , my follow up care will b done by my bariatric doctor here.
