Not Worth It
Spent: $400 in Dallas, TX
My Dentist was running a special for $400 so I decided to try the Zoom treatment. I had my teeth cleaned and then we began the Zoom procedure. My dentist did a great job of sealing off the mouth and gums, gave me goggles to wear and did all the protective stuff. During the 2nd and 3rd 15 minute sessions I had some zinging, but I have a very high tolerance for pain so I sluffed it off as no big deal. To give you an idea of my pain tolerance, as a teenager (the only time I had cavities) my mom was a health nut and was against shots and any form of drugs, so I had to have my cavities filled without any medication (it was difficult to find a dentist who would drill w/o pain killers but she found one). I went through the 3 fillings without a wimper. After this experience and the last 4 hours, I want to scream! The procedure was complete at about 4pm, I went home with mild pains. By the time it was 9pm I had constant shooting pain in my teeth, took 2 extra strength tylenol (the 2nd time in my life) which made no difference in helping with the pain. I would never do this procedure or recommend it to anyone. I have used bleaching trays in the past and acheived better results with minimal pain or discomfort. Beware and ask lots of questions, If you are like me and your teeth are white already dont do this, it doesnt make your teeth any whiter than bleaching with a strong solution.
