My husband and I signed up for Invisalign with a dentist in Orlando, Fl. We were both told we were on a "ONE year track". Great - we were both in our 50's but ready to tackle whatever crooked teeth we had going on.

RELIGIOUSLY, we keep the invisible aligners in our mouths 24-7 except to eat and brush our teeth! We went to the dentist every two weeks to get the new aligners. Ten months into the process, we were told that Invisalign "bought out" another company and we would have to wait on our new aligners because the company was so backed up trying to fill orders. We had to wait over SIX weeks for our new aligners!!! Meanwhile, our teeth shifted back to their original positions! So, $6,000 and a year later we were offered "personal" attention from the dentist and were told it would be at least another year before our teeth straightened.

I would be very, very careful who you choose to contract for this. I feel ripped off to say the least and would NEVER recommend this process to anyone.

Great review?

My rating:

There was another staff person in the office who took care of us every two weeks after our initial consultation. The dentist was in the process of selling his practice. Whenever we called the office to find out when our aligners were going to be in (this, after 9 months of wearing aligners)we were put off.

I'm in Orlando too and should be getting my invisilign here in the next few weeks. The only thing that concerns me of what you said is that you couldn't speak clearly. This is a problem for me because I'm in sales and do in home appointments for Medicare recipients and I need them to understand me. Was it a huge difference in speech?

There is a forum open titled "Invisalign lisp - Will invisalign give me a lisp or affect my speech?" that I thought would interest you. You can click here to see what others have said. Once you get your Invisalign please post your experience with it there too! :)

No, we stopped using them. We were so disappointed and disgusted with the waist of a whole year after the time and effort we put in, we weren't up for another year of it. We never would have started if they had told us if would be TWO years - it was just total lack of responsibility on their part. You have to be very disiplined while going through the process and wear them 24/7. It was minimally painful, but hard to speak clearly when using them. If they had kept their end of the bargain it would have been great. But they didn't.

Hi snue,

Welcome to the Invisalign community. Wow, I can't believe that happened to you two. Are you and your husband still using Invisalign trays? Did you have any pain when you were? Please keep us updated how everything is going, as your story is quite different, but very useful to the community.

Thanks so much for the review,

-Britt
