So I had smart lipo done in NYC on Sept 22nd. When choosing smart lipo I knew I was not going to lose weight. I was very realistic with what I should expect. I went in expecting a more defined contoured shape by Christmas and for my clothes to fit a lot better if not drop a size or two.
At first I felt great. The recovery wasn't horrible. Had it on a Thurs, went back to work on Tuesday. Yeah I was sore, had drainage the first day, and it took a few weeks to not be sore to the touch but on the whole it wasn't that bad.
After about 6 weeks I noticed the contouring starting to take place. I could tell my body was shaping up nicely. I had a follow up and looked at the before pictures with my doctor and I definitely saw the difference. My doctor also told me I had 4500CC's taken out which was A LOT more than he expected he would get. FYI...I had my inner/outer thighs, upper and lower abdomen, flanks(love handles)and my under bra roll. After leaving that appt. I felt reassured and he even said by my next appt. and by Xmas I will notice a lot more changes.
Well it is now November 28th and my next appt. is Dec 7th and I feel I look like I have regressed in results. I wore my garment for 3 weeks and then after that I wore a binder. As far as my diet/exercise I really was pretty consistent. I walk about a mile a day...use stairs instead of elevators and my diet is pretty normal. I go out drinking maybe once every two weeks and well basically I just live a normal life style. I don't get crazy with junk food nor with healthy food...I have a nice balance. So WHY did what I thought to be hopefully good results go away???
I am back to the same size I was before (at least I assume I am cause my clothes fit like they did before the surgery) and also I do not see any contouring, nada. I am extremely sadden and disappointed. The reason I had this done is because I lost 40lbs on my own from my normal routine (stated above) and I hit a plateau that for the past 2 years I have not been able to break.
I just want to know what others think...Like I said I has been 2 months and 1 week. Shouldn't I be seeing something?
Okay so I finally received my before pictures from...

As for me, I am hanging in there. There are days where I get very bummed and regret everything I did to my body, but I try to snap myself out of it and just focus on making things the best they can be given the situation. There's no doubt my body has changed drastically after the second lipo surgery--fat is redistributing in different places, mostly my upper arms and thighs. My metabolism is kind of wacky. I work my butt off at the gym and have been on a very strict diet of only clean, healthy foods. These efforts have made some improvement, but it takes a lot more work than before I had the surgery. So yes, I do wish I never did this...but I can't turn back time.
However, this is just my story and my situation. Everyone has different results and I am hopeful yours will turn out just great. Stay active, keep exercising and eating well. Drink lots of water and keep sodium to a minimum. This should help with the bloating. Best of luck!
Thank you for your concern. Yeah its looking better but, like I said in my recent posts I'm just concerned and confused about some things. Idk. This has all been such a headache. How are you doing???
That's really odd. I know it can take a few months for all of the swelling to go away, but I agree with you that you should have seen something by now. :-/ 4500cc must have gone somewhere, right? Have you gotten in touch with your doctor?
