“5 Aligners to Go- 6 Month Treatment - New York, NY”
Spent: $4,200 in New York, NY
Posted 29 Mar 2011
After almost getting veneers I decided to give Invisalign a try and save money. Finally found a provider under $5k- tough in NYC. THANK GOD I didn't pay more- turns out I only needed 6 months and 15 aligners (had top dentists telling me a year or more for simple overcrowding). I had braces in High School but wisdom teeth moved my front teeth a bit. I would be pretty pissed off if I paid more, as I could have gotten veneers instead for $10k.
I was not totally prepared for the attachments, maybe that's why my treatment is so swift. I have 6 in all and it IS noticeable on my top teeth when the retainers are out. Pretty much kept me from dating for the past 4 months. You may also have trouble speaking at first and possibly a slight lisp. Some retainers can cause spitting as well . If I had to do it over again I would probably do braces behind my teeth or veneers. Invisalign is too expensive and tedious.

Not super friendly but they are a lower cost provider and experienced. Invisalign designs your aligners so don't get bamboozled by a fancy doctor.
Hi Party,
Welcome to the Invisalign community. I'm not sure I read your review right. Are you finished with your procedure or still in the process? 6 months and 15 aligners isn't that bad at all especially because others quoted you upwards of a year. Please keep us updated.
Thanks so much for the review,

My only complaint is the fee is for a year, so I feel a bit ripped off that I'm paying for a full year's service with only 6 months. They made me sign before even seeing the dentist- so you are committed to the fee) Of course glad I didn't sign up with a more expensive dentist now. If you have a case like mine you might be better off just getting a retainer and having it adjusted every so often- a much cheaper option.
