“First Step Towards a Tummy Tuck - New York, NY”
Spent: $0 in New York, NY
I am a 33 year old mother of one. My daughter is 9. I don't plan to have any more children. I decided to have a tummy tuck because I have always been unhappy with the way my tummy looks. I had hernia surgery at a young age so I had a tummy before I had a child. I'm 5'4" and weigh 181 lbs. I am happy with my size 12 jeans. I just hate that I have love handles in the front, back and center when I wear them. I don't want to lose weight. I am just looking to have my clothes fit me better. My first appointment for a consultation is December 9th. I wish it was today. I am very excited. I just hope I can afford it!

I went to my appointment today...I'm sort off disapointed. Has anyone heard of a pannectomy? What's the difference with a tummy tuck?

Sorry it's panniculectomy? Any clues?

So much has happen since my last update. I am scheduled for my tummy. The date is 2/15. I have preop on 2/3 and meet the anesthesiologist on 2/8. I'm expected at the hospital at 7AM. My doc says he's removing the excess skin and fat and plication on the stomach muscles. I am excited and scared at the same time.

Started preparing my hospital bag in case I have to do an overnight stay. I will do some grocery shopping later for my mom and daughter. I'm so scared and excited at the same time. I'll try to post some before pictures today.

Not too happy

Just take this one step at a time and do all of your research. Make sure to have at least 2-3 consults and ask all your questions. Write them down as they come to mind so that you don't forget anything.
Getting rid of the extra skin really helps in how the clothes fit. Focus on being fit and healthy right now. This will help in the recovery process.
Keep checking in and let us know how everything is going. I am happy you joined us here on RealSelf.
