Hi, I had a revision rhinoplasty done almost 2 years ago to correct my original rhinoplasty which came out looking very unnatural for my face. It was much bigger than my original nose and the tip was bulky and terribly unrefined. The problem with this revision rhinoplasty was that it is now too short for my face. The other extreme! The nose is upturned (Saddle-bridge) and the tip is bubbly. I am a 30 year old male so it has really wrecked my confidence to have a more feminine looking nose that is too short. Its safe to say my original nose was the best so far and I do regret getting both the rhino and the rhino revison done. I am contemplating getting a third rhino revision now though becuase I really dislike this. My question is.... What are the chances that a 3rd revision to correct a short nose will actually come out good and fit my face? All my research has shown that this procedure is extremly difficult and very risky. One source sighted that rhinos to correct short noses result in success less than 50% of the time. What is the deal with this procedure. Should I quite while I am behind? How difficult is it to actually get good results on a 3rd revisino. too short. Sure most docs will say they can do it, but please give me an honest answer here. I don't like this nose but can't afford to take a chance on a procedure that comes out looking good less than 50% of the time. Thanks for your help
Welcome to RealSelf and thank you for posting your experience here on the site! I'm so sorry you're unhappy with your revision. That's super frustrating and draining. Short noses can be corrected, but you would likely need a cartilage graft. You can find more information on grafts here . It seems that most doctors are not in favor of implants for lengthening noses.
I had an ear cartilage graft myself and it worked very well.
Most importantly, find a doctor who is very experienced at REVISION rhinoplasty. Consult, consult, consult until you find one you feel good about.
You also might want to consider posting a question to doctors in RealSelf's Q&A community (please include a photo). They should be able to give you some good guidance.
