I went to doctor yesterday expecting to get Restalyne in nasolabial folds (which I'd had several times before) but she convinced me to have Radiesse in midface as well as some in the folds. She put some Emla on the areas ahead of time to numb them and also used lidocaine in the syringe. I found the procedure close to painless. A few pinches. So far I have very minor swelling which only I can see. I think there will be one spot where I have a small bruise but it looks like it won't be worse than the blemishes I occasionally get. I'm a little perturbed that my upper lip looks slightly different when I smile -- that's a area of concern for me because my smile is my best feature -- but I think that is due to that slight swelling. I will try to remember to update in a week or so. I just wanted to write something now because there are so many Radiesse horror stories here, I thought people might be interested in one where my whole face hasn't fallen off in the first 24 hours! Incidentally, I went to a doctor who was recommended to me by someone I've known a long time -- I never suspected her of having work done, but I also thought she was 45. She (the patient) turns out to be 58. So I would definitely only do this with a doctor that someone I knew vouched for.
