I am a mother of 3 beautiful children. I'm 33 years old and very unhappy with the way my body has changed after childbirth. I am considering having a tummy tuck and breask augmentation with a lift. I'm so nervous about the recovery and going under anesthesia. Need to hear from some of you experienced moms.

Having second thoughts about getting implants. I'm so nervous I'm not sleeping at night and after seeing the news last night about implants being a possible link to lymphoma I was really freaked out. I don't know if I should just get a lift without the implants. I just don't know if I'll be happy with the way they will look without the them. This is so frustrating and the more time I spend researching online the more discouraged I get.

I did it! Had it done yesterday 2/15. So glad it's over. I will update everyone with moew info as soon I feel more up to it. For all the ladies that have beeen through this, My PS put in 350cc's and they are huge right now. I'm trying not to panic I ididn't want to go big I want to be a full see. Do they go down tremendously or I'm I gonna stay close to this size?

Nervousness is very normal at this stage of the game. I would recommend you keep reading reviews, check out JenBob's 10 Things I Wish I'd Known Before A Mommy Makeover and keep updating here. I've noticed that the more details women are willing to share, the more responses they often get on their reviews.

I've also started a Facebook group called Moms Who Want Their Bodies Back. Please come join us! :)

Thanks, I read JenBob's 10 things and it was very helpful. I will definitley join the Facebook group in the future. None of my friends know that I am doing this. I don't want to hear anything negative right now. I feel that at this stage the silliest thing someone says will change my mind lol. Looking forward to hearing from people who have been in my shoes. I really can't stop thinking about it. It's making me extremely nervous. I just want the day to hurry up and come.

Okay so I know I am a month late on this posting but I too "DO NOT" want to hear any negative comments! I wish people were not so judgemental and could see the heart of a person! Sorry again for posting so late but this is so relevant for me right now too!!! I wish mine could stay a secret but I am afraid it is not possible with having so much family close..

Iknow how you feel. There are very few people that know that I had this done and only 1 friend knows that i have implants because she was having them done too. Anyone else that knows thinks that I just had a TT. I didn't even tell my parents about the implants lol!

When I had it done and wasn't able to get my children from school for the first week I told the moms that see me everyday that i was sick. Even though I have a great connection with them I didn't feel it was necessary for them to know, it only takes one person to slip and everyone will know. I always had nice sized breasts atleast it looked that way because i always wore very padded bras. I just hope the swelling goes down in time for summer because then i may be more noticable.

Don't worry about anyone, you don't have to say anything, i just recently told my sister inlaw and i wasnt't going to but i changed my mind. She would have never known. lol. Good luck!

Brooklyn340,
I wish so much my situation would've been more like yours. However, I have too much family around! I thought about it and it really would've been impossible for me to keep a secret! I hate knowing sooner or later many others will probably know and it will probably get back to me! I need to prepare myself;). Thanks for your support and good wishes! Happy healing to you as well:)!

Many of us know exactly how you feel regarding others knowing! I know some people were judging me, including my step-mom the other night. Most people know that I had a full tt but not too many know about the breast lift and implants :)
Brooklyn3404 5 Jan 2011
Exactly, I don't plan on telling anyone about the BA/lift either. Some people are to judgemental and I really don't need to hear any negative opinions...How are you feeling now? I can't belive how afraid I've been feeling latley. A couple of months ago I couldn't wait for it to come, now I'm really having secound thoughts. I know that if I don't go through with it now that I will be sorry. Just the thoughts of going under and then being laid up for who knows how long is making me nuts!

I am almost one month out and feel great! I still get tired easier then before but with each day I notice improvment.

People shouldn't really care since WE are the ones having surgery and WE are the ones paying for it!

Yes the thought of down time drove me crazy so I completely understand :) Being a runner, I freaked the last couple weeks before surgery over not being able to run. I ran at least 6 miles every single day the 13 days prior to surgery LOL
Brooklyn3404 5 Jan 2011
I hear ya! I find it very hard to sit still. I spin and I'm really gonna miss it. Not gonna be easy sitting around doing nothing and I'm also very independant...How long did you stay in the house for? I have a fundraiser at my sons school 2 weeks after the surgery and I really don't want to miss it. Hoping that I will be okay to go. What kind of implants did you get?
Christina Grand Rapids 5 Jan 2011
I was in the house for 6 days, only going to the doctor to have my drains removed. After that I didn't go out for a few more days. I finally ventured out by myself about a week and a half after surgery but it was VERY tiring! A little more then two weeks after surgery I spent a solid 6 hours at the mall :) I would say you should be just fine for the fundraiser but don't be surprised if you get tired easily.

It is hard when you are so active and afterwards you can't do anything for days and then no exercise for at least a couple of weeks and even then, nothing close to what you were doing before! For goodness sakes I ran a marathon in late March, now I probably couldn't run a 5k lol

I got 400cc saline implants. I was a C cup before but now I am a full c, maybe even a d depending on the maker of the bra. Right now I am only wearing cheap sports bras, per the doctor I am to wear nothing that pushes them up. My left implant moved up after surgery, due to excessive swelling and she wants to give it a fair chance to fall. It is still higher then the other but it has fallen so I am hoping it continues to move down. Otherwise I get a local so she can make an inch long incision and basically reach in and tug it down...ugh!
Christina Grand Rapids 5 Jan 2011
I meant late October for the marathon :)
Brooklyn3404 5 Jan 2011
Oh no! I hope it drops so you don't have to go through that! I am also a C cup and would like to go a full C like you did so hopefully I will look like the old me again lol. I want to look as natural as possible. I'm leaning towards silicone Still not sure though. What made you decide to do saline? You seem to be determined and I'm sure you'll be running a gain soon. It really must be hard. I not really one to exercise but I do spin 3 days a week and I love to speed walk when the weather is warm. I'm just very active, always running around with the kids. My husband's gonna have his work cut out for him that's for sure.
Brooklyn3404 5 Jan 2011
Also, did you go under or above the muscle?
Christina Grand Rapids 6 Jan 2011
I have wanted to try spinning, it is supposed to be a great way to burn calories!

I went with saline because my doc recommended it. She put them under the muscle and even now, the muscles are still sore. That was probably the biggest problem I had, sore muscles.
Brooklyn3404 6 Jan 2011
I'm gonna feel like a punching bag after all this lol... Don't know which implant to choose. I have an appointment on Monday with the PS so I guess I'll decide then. So many decisions on top of the anxiety. Can't wait to get this over with...Spin is a great way to burn calories and if you find a good instructor it really keep you motivavted.
Christina Grand Rapids 6 Jan 2011
I was the same way, I just wanted to get the show on the road!

I was looking around but the only class I found so far was one where it looks like you bring your own bike. Seems like an awful hefty item to be lugging around to me! I am sure places offer, I just have to find them :)
Brooklyn3404 6 Jan 2011
Do you have a sports club by you? I go to NY sports club and their classes are pretty good.
Christina Grand Rapids 6 Jan 2011
We have one across town. I just looked and they offer a ton of classes but it looks like you have to be a member. I love my gym, the only downside is there are no classes offered :(
Brooklyn3404 6 Jan 2011
Yeah, you probably have to be a member. You should suggest to them to offer classes. You never know. We're getting another snow storm tomorrow. I hope it's not another bad one, their saying 4-7 inches and I hope their right lol. Still recovering from last weeks storm.

I also ran a half marathon in Oct and it is amazing how tired I get now just walking around for 20 mis while I shop! :)
I love spin also and the Dr said that i should be able to go back to spin 3-4 weeks after my surgery. :)
LUVFITNESS 8 Jan 2011
Chrisstina, how did your implant move up? Do you know?
Brooklyn3404 9 Jan 2011
3-4 weeks isn't bad at all. I hope I do as great as you guys are doing.
Christina Grand Rapids 9 Jan 2011
After surgery my right breast started to swell and according to my husband, they were worried about it. She said the fluid inside the breast pushed the implant back up. When she had finished surgery it was where it was supposed to be but then the swelling started. It has actually dropped over the past few weeks but you can tell it still is not in the right position. I keep hoping that it will continue to drop and she won't have to do anything.

Congrats on the half! I love that distance and hope to run another one this year! Did you like it?
Christina Grand Rapids 9 Jan 2011
I think you will be surprised at how well it goes. I know it isn't the same for everyone but for the vast majority of us, the worst days are the couple days following surgery, after that it only gets better :) One month post op and I ran 5 miles this morning; I wasn't even sure I would be able to do a full mile...that is how great I feel!
LUVFITNESS 9 Jan 2011
I loved the Half Marathon. I have done that two times now. I grew up not liking running at all. But after years of cardio kickboxing and spinning, I felt that I had hit a plateau, so I started training for the Half marathon and loved it!! I plan on running my third one in Oct!! :)
