These implants are out!
I had to update this review from not sure to not worth it. I just underwent an explant with one implant that was ruptured 12 days ago. I am so happy to have these bags of toxins out of my body. Basically, I feel as if it was a very expensive life lesson. Each day post explant I feel better and really want to get the word out that if you are considering implants really do your research!
2 1/2 months
Everything is starting to feel pretty normal. A lot of my swelling has gone away. It is finally comfortable to sleep.
17 days post op
Just 17 days since my procedure. I feel like time is crawling by. I need some more patience with this recovery. I do not think I gave this type of surgery enough respect when going into it. I thought that I would feel great by now. Due to having large pec muscles, I am having a lot of swelling. I stopped doing chest exercises about two weeks before surgery. I think I should have stopped one month before. I have to wear a strap because the right side is not wanting to drop. It has gotten a lot better in the past few days. The strap is a little annoying, and if I am around the house I wear it over my clothing because it irritates my skin. I am having a small amount of bruising under the right side near the incision, and that incision is a little more aggravated than the left. The steri strips gave me a rash, so I had to stop wearing them. Right now, I feel I am larger than I wanted to be. I am sure this is due to the swelling and will change with time. I guess I just want to believe all of the information I read that says the swelling should go down at two weeks. I really think it will be more like two months. I am limiting my activity to walking, very gentle modified yoga, and light housework. This is killing me, because I love to work out. I know doing that will just delay the healing process. As far as pain goes, I had a lot the first few days. I only took the prescribed meds in the evening for three nights, and then extra strength tylenol. Last night and this morning my chest feels a little tender, and my incision sites are a little sore. I think this is due to nerves coming back. I am looking forward to my next appointment, which is Wednesday, to get the remainder of the stitches out.
