I am surprised at the lack of results. In November 2006 I had lipo to my jowls and neck, upper eyelids and lower face lift. The results in no way compare to what is advertised. I was given a valium before the surgery and I ended up going to sleep which was good. There were numerous shots and they were worse then the dentist's shots. I went to sleep while the doctor was doing the jowl lipo. I left the office with my head fully wrapped, pain meds and thank God a husband who was very supportive. There was a lot of bruising and swelling which I expected. Pumpkin head is a good description of how I looked. I followed all the prescribed after care procedures (ice, sleeping upright, soft foods/liquids, etc.) On my follow up with the doctor I shared that I was disappointed and he said the results varied. This surgery to me is like fast food - the commercials look good, but what you get is very different. I wish I had chosen more wisely. My sister had an outpatient, regular face lift with anesthesia and after care with a nurse by her side for 24 hours. My sister looks great. Suggestion: save your money for a regular face lift under a doctor's care! The bottom line - my neck still sags, the jowls are still there, but my eyes sure look better.
