Heredity Clock Turned Back - Baltimore, MD

I feel as though the hands of the heredity clock have been turned back! A few years ago my mother advised me to “have something done with your eyes before they get like mine and you’re too old to have anything done.” She lived with under eye bags for as long as I can remember, trying to conceal them under large framed glasses – but always self conscious of them. After her death, I took her advice! Dr. Schuster was referred to me by my dentist who had her eyes done by him about ten years ago. This was a referral for which I’ll always be thankful.
In addition to being concerned about my eyes, I was also unhappy with the appearance of my nose. The inherited shape was further “enhanced” from a car accident many years ago. Needless to say, I didn’t see my profile as one of my finer attributes! Dr. Schuster discussed a couple options and I then proceeded to schedule surgery.
My procedures consisted of upper and lower eyelid surgery, rhinoplasty, and some liposuction of the chin/neck area. It was a long surgery (almost 6 hours) and the hospital staff was great and very accommodating – and had great things to say about Dr. Schuster, too! I had been given detailed post-op instructions prior to surgery so I went home well prepared.
My procedure took place on July 1st and I was back to work on July 14th. Some bruising and swelling were still evident but not for long. The best thing I can say about the results of the surgery is that no one really notices – the results are that natural looking. I’ve had comments such as “you look brighter,” but I’ve not heard the words, “you look tired,” since then!
