How it works
  • Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
  • This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
  • Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.
  • Reviews are only removed at the reviewer's request or if they violate our Terms of Service.

Oh, and...

I forgot to mention the definite slightly open bite at the back on the left side. It's not a big deal but does require me to chew food elsewhere, but having read any number of reviews I'm confident it's only temporary. The other thing is that with the last and current trays my speech is noticeably slurred, apparently especially when using the 'phone. I'm hoping that too is temporary.

Tray 5

That one proved to be a bit of a nasty one. Throughout the whole of the two weeks I never stopped being aware of it doing its job and all my teeth were tightly hugged by it. I was so concerned that nothing had changed because it still felt uncomfortable that I kept it in for a couple of days longer.
The current one is proving to be the same and even just sitting here I'm aware of pressure, especially on the front two at the top. There's been significant movement now, and cleaning my teeth doesn't feel at all the same. From doing this purely to move the top teeth I've now become more concerned about the lower ones and the lack of any noticeable shift. Flossing tells me it's happening, but nothing to compare with the upper ones.
I've become quite blasé about discreetly contorting my face in restaurants as I take them out only when the food has arrived. Scarves are proving to be very useful fashion accessories!
I'll endeavour to post photos albeit rather late in the day.

Phew

It proved to be much ado about nothing so no change to any attachments for which I'm truly glad. I rang to check things and was happy to be told I'd got confused...easily done when you've focused on your anxiety more than what was being said.
Halfway through tray 5 and I'm beginning to suspect a very slight open bite developing towards the back of the left side and am eating things mainly on the opposite side. The upper middle left tooth continues to feel squeezed and pulled back into line which is great, and generally my teeth are definitely shifting slightly as they're easier to clean now.
I do miss my cups of tea and coffee even though I thought it'd be doable - and it is, but rushing through good food and opting not to have a last glass of something or a coffee feels more like out and out deprivation now that the first flush of enthusiasm and novelty is fading. My family offer sympathetic looks as they tuck in.
So far, and I know it's early days, there doesn't seem to be an issue with my upper lip suddenly acquiring lots of fine lines but I'm keeping my fingers crossed about that..

Nothing but good things to say. Everyone very open to answering questions and my orthodontist even had Invisalign herself.
