So I have been looking into getting this done for 3 years now. I was 17 when I was first interested, and because of my age my mom had told me to hire a personal trainer and it would do the job. Since my tummy is genetic and not a result of overeating or being lazy, working out with a trainer did nothing to my mid-section, just my legs and arms!

I'm 5'3 and 115 lbs. My appointment for my consultation is day after tomorrow. I've done my research and am prepared to pay around $5,000, and am aware of the initial and post-op pain. I'll admit I am a bit nervous, and I actually couldn't decide between laser lipo and Zerona at first. After reading up on the two, I concluded that with laser lipo my fat cells will be sucked out but with Zerona they will be shrunk. Zerona will cost me about $2-3,000 (vs $5000 for laser- which is permanent). So laser it is! I'll be back to update after the consult!

Alrighty! I had my consult earlier today and it went quite well, I must admit. The doctor was very friendly and professional all at once, and I never felt like he was pushing me to make a decision right away. He took pictures and pointed out that if I were to get laser on just the front part (the main muffin) it would look weird later because of my hips/love handles (which I never really thought I had a problem with!). In the end we decided that if I were to go through with it, he would do the lower and upper tummy, the love handles, and the hips. The quote was a bit over my budget ($500 over) but he will be treating three different areas instead of one, so I'm ok with it. After the consult I fell much more confident that this is what I want to do! Basically at this place they are having me pay 50% down before the pre-op physical, and the rest the day of the physical. I have to go and get my own blood work done from the hospital, though. After that, if everything looks good, I'll be scheduled for the procedure. He said pretty much what I've already read on here about what will happen...I asked about how some people are saying that they can actually feel them probing their tummies at times if they hit a sensitive spot- the doctor told me not to worry and that that only happens when the person doing it doesn't know what they're doing :) I'm really excited and hope to get this done within a few weeks! I did however feel like I'm cheating on my personal trainer by sneaking off to lipo consultations LOL...I'll check back in after my pre-op checkup! Cheers!
