Breast Implants: Fast Forward to MAY 2020 from May 2002! Photos and Update...

I am uploading under update to make sure my RealSelf friends will see the photos. I am going to have to find a way to take photos with other angles.
This is just my story and my experience. I hope to encourage others thinking about having implants.
I think it is important to update breast implants done in May 2002 for many reasons: the year is now 2020, I haven’t had complications and I had one surgery. My body didn’t reject the implants, and I still have great cleavage.
I would like to be a voice for the many women and men who aren’t on the RS platform and have the same breast implants or even different implants years later. Remember, every body is physically and biologically different.
I don’t know if I mentioned in previous pots that I’ve taken an antibiotic before every dental appointment and cleaning. I’ve taken antibiotics before having most preventative appointments. I’d recommend asking your plastic surgeon and your doctor or nurse before anything foreign is introduced to your body after you have implants. I wasn’t able to have my teeth cleaned due to the pandemic but I have them cleaned every six months. I take two of the same antibiotic exactly two hours before my appointment *DISCLAIMER*- I am not giving you medical advice on the latter, but I am giving a suggestion to make sure you ask so you’ll be safe.
I never had this situation with my PS, but, if it’s impossible to ask your PS, call another or ask a doctor here on RS. I thought I had to take antibiotic before (example) teeth cleanings but I have been told otherwise. I still will do so since being cautious hasn’t caused me harm.
I thought after every ten years I would need to have my implants taken out and replaced- I called my PS (Dr. Volpe) before the ten years passed and he said that I didn’t have as long as I feel fine and I have no complaints, breast pain, etc. I don’t even know where I got the ten year idea!
If you are ever wondering an answer to a question- call your PS’s office. I always receive a call back or an answer to my emails. It’s been like that from the start.
Make sure you trust your plastic surgeon in any situation before any procedure or surgery! It took me many visits to other doctors, research, before and after photos in offices, reading brochures and I found my PS! I knew from the first appointment Dr. Volpe was the right Plastic Surgeon for me! Trust your intuition and remember you’ll be nervous but nerves and trust are totally different feelings.

I had my implants in May 2002.

2002-SAME BREAST IMPLANTS (saline) TIPS FOR THE FUTURE...

The TIPS I WOULD GIVE TO YOU:
VS Sports bras are my go to bras.
-I wear SPORTS BRAS, always.
-I NEVER WORK OUT MY CHEST, ever. I did before my implants but I don’t anymore. I will not do chest exercises ...but if I’m in a group class or something I use the light weights...2lbs-4lbs.
The REASON why I don’t work out my chest is I’m afraid of the implants moving or pulling a muscle in the area. My implants feel like a regular part of my body and they look natural, even in a bathing suit. My scars are hardly noticeable. This is my experience and everyone is different but take your time when recovering and after.
I have the same 465cc’s Saline filled, under the muscle, breast implants done in May 2002. My body has changed since I had them done. It’s been a long time.
Now, it is 2020, I wish that I had smaller implants but no one was changing my mind in 2002. I am thankful that I haven’t had any compilations or issues thus far with them. I have back pain and I’m not sure if it’s because I wear thin sports bras. The VS Sports bras I loved aren’t made anymore. I haven’t found any good ones but I’ll keep looking. I wish I could have smaller implants but I’m too nervous about it since I’ve had good luck thus far. I spoke with my doctor and had an appointment with him. I figure: if it’s not broken then why try to fix it? I hope I can help so if you have questions about implants or any surgery or procedure I’ve had just ask!
