Day 3

Feeling much better today. I really been watching my sodium intake. its so difficult though as almost everything has sodium. i been eating a lot of papaya which is suppose to reduce the bruising. i also been eating fruits, vegetables, salt-free crackers, eggs without salt, toast and jelly. my bruising is starting to reduce but I'm still pretty swelled up. i have an appointment with dr. Elam tomorrow. i'm so scared of my results I really hope it is what i am expecting i don't get my cast removed till next thursday so I'm crossing fingers that i will have tears of joy rather than of resentment.

Day 2

I had an appointment the next day to remove the packing. I really didn't know what to expect but i was brought back to the surgery room and the nurse removed my packing. Dr. Elam came in to check on me and removed some of the stitching. He informed me not to talk much for the next few days since i tend to move my nose when i speak. I was a bit more congested today. I didn't get much sleep the night before as I had to go to the bathroom constantly from drinking so much water. i also had a hard time sleeping because i was worried that i was going to hit my nose. if you notice in the picture i am swelling up more and my bruises are beginning to show. I really didn't want to upload this picture because i look terrible.

Surgery January 14th

was extremely nervous and scared of actually going through with the surgery. I was more nervous of how i would wake up especially since i was informed that i would have to breathe from my mouth and not my nose. I met with dr. Elam just before the surgery and went over the pre-op pictures to go over minor changes that i wanted. after we had our discussion I went to the surgery room. the nurses and anesthesiologist treated me very well and really calmed me down. I felt much more at ease. i laid down and they placed the ivy on me and then the anesthesia. The last thing i remember was talking to the nurse and the anesthesiologist. When i woke up I immediately remembered to breathe from my mouth which prevented me from panicking. the nurses dressed me up and really took good care of me. i was then sent home and didn't feel much pain. I was just sore and thirsty. my mouth wasn't as dry as i read others have. it was difficult to eat much. i had apple sauce, jello, ginger-ale, and water. Thankfully i wasn't nauseous and didn't vomit. my face didn't show much swelling the first day.
