I had been bothered by my round, meaty face for a really long time. I always just smiled a little bit when I took pictures cuz I knew smiling made my face look even bigger in pictures. I started to hate taking pictures but it was not the solution. I finally decided to make a change and to take plastic surgery. I did my research and understood that I could do buccal fat removal to make my face smaller. I told myself that if I was going to have plastic surgery I would try to find the best doctor I could cuz I don't want to regret all my life with failed surgery. I searched online and found out that Dr. Sajjadian did several surgeries on buccal fat removal and the results of these patients were great. Even though I live in the east coast I decided to go to Cali to do the surgery.

From the moment I contacted Dr. Sajjadian's office, I felt myself very well treated. Liz was so helpful and friendly I immediately felt that I made the right choice. She asked for a few pictures of mine for the doctor to assess my situation and arranged a consolation on 6/24 and the surgery on 6/25. The day before 6/24 she even called me to check if my travel went well.

On 6/24 I went to the clinic. Liz was very nice, just as I felt when we talked on the phone. Dr. Sajjadian came in after a few and we discussed the issues of my face. He let me tell him what I was dissatisfied with my face and then he gave me his solutions. He thought that I didn't have too much buccal fat and I should remove only part of it. He also suggested liposuction on my cheek near my nose to remove the excess fat, injecting some filler on top of that area, and botox on the masseter muscle to reduce it so that my jawline would look better. It was really nice that Dr. Sajjadian just offered these solutions and let me decide what I wanted to do. Though it was out of my budget, I decided to do everything since I particularly flew to Cali for doing the surgery by Dr. Sajjadian and I didn't want to miss the opportunity. After the consolation, Dr. Sajjadian injected the filler and botox. After the filler was injected I immediately looked more youthful.

The next day, I went to the surgery site. The nurse was very nice and had me take the prescribed medicine that I got the day before. Then Dr. Sajjadian came in and asked how I felt. I felt a bit dizzy because of the medicine but that was a nice feeling. Then the surgery started. Dr. worked on my right face first and then the left face. I was really surprised how fast Dr. Sajjadian finished the buccal fat removal of my left side. It was no more than 5 minutes, which indicated that he was really an expert and skillful for what he was doing. No pain at all. After that, I suppose he observed my face and then decided to remove more fat from my right face to make my face look symmetric. He worked on my right face again and I felt a little pain. But in total I'd say the buccal fat removal cost like 20 minutes. After that he quickly sutured the wound and moved on to liposuction on my cheek. It was not bad just some weird feeling. After the surgery was done I rested a bit and went back to the hotel.

I could feel a bit pain when I was walking but I rested in bed almost all the time after I got back to the hotel. My left face looked just as before whereas my right face was a bit swelling. I followed Dr's suggestions and used ice pack on my face for 15 minutes every hour. I didn't take any painkillers as it was not painful at all when resting in bed. I ate some hummus and yogurt that day. During the night I slept upright which was really wise cuz the next morning there was no increased swelling at all.

Since I had to fly back to the east coast on the afternoon of 6/26, Liz arranged me a visit to Dr. Sajjadian on the early morning of 6/26 (How thoughtful she was!). Dr. said i was doing really well and everything seemed good. He even gave me a plastic pack so I could put ice in it to use during the take-off and landing. I still avoided solid food the day when I traveled back. I just had ice-cream and yogurt.

After I got back home, I still applied the ice pack regularly which indeed helped reduce the swelling. On 6/27 the swelling of my right face reduced considerably and I could start eating soft food like ravioli. On 6/28 a friend visited me and he couldn't tell that I had surgery! LOL. I had two stripes on the wound of the liposuction and I just told him that that was for acne and he believed it! :D

On 6/29 I went back to work and my face looked completely normal. Then day by day I started to see the progress and I was really happy. I became more and more confident of myself and I feel really good. I took a lot of selfies lol. You can see the pictures of my progress as follows.

There's another thing I want to mention. Around mid-August, the lump after the liposuction on my right cheek was still there. I was a little bit worried though I found on the web that it could take up to 6 months for the surgery area get to normal. I contacted Dr's office and Liz told me Dr was on vacation. But that night I received a call from Dr. Sajjadian to ask for detailed information. I was really thankful that he contacted me even when he was traveling. Now 2 months has passed after my surgery, the lump is almost gone completely. I'm sure my cheek will look even better in another 3 or 4 months.

If you are considering buccal fat removal, I highly recommend Dr. Sajjadian.
