Amazing consultation!

I had my consultation last night with Dr. Saunders, and he was great. His staff was also AMAZING, I loved them. Anyway, I told him I'd like to go down to a B cup if I could, and he told me that because it would be such a big change he could get me down to a C. He showed me some pictures from past patients who had similar results, and it looked great so I agreed.
His surgeries are done in a hospital and I will stay overnight instead of leaving the day of, which makes me feel a little more comfortable. Also, he will use the anchor incision and put in drains as well; kind of sucks, but hey, whatever works. I got pics taken for the insurance company, and the best part of all is that the woman I spoke to (who was amazing, did I mention that?) told me she was basically certain my insurance would approve this. I have BCBS Federal, which makes a big difference apparently, and my height (5'0) and size work in my favor. I hope she's right. She constantly told me not to worry, that I would feel so great after this and that it was really a simpler operation than, say, abdominoplasty or something like that. I don't know anything about that procedure but I'll gladly take her word for it. Doc also said the procedure would take about 3 1/2 hours, which is shorter than I thought. All good things!
Now I just have to go over to my primary physician and get her to write me a letter and my letters/pics/recommendations go off the the insurance company! They told me sometimes they get back to them within 48 hours, sometimes in 2-3 weeks. I can't really get the surgery until my winter break so this means little to me, but still encouraging! I have high hopes, but not too high. Can't let myself get too excited until I get that phone call saying the surgery is approved.

P.S. as opposed to my original post about my breast size, I discovered I'm actually a 32DDD/34DD. Pics still coming soon, I promise. Sorry it's taking me so long.

One step closer!

I'm 20 years old, a junior in college, and have...

I'm 20 years old, a junior in college, and have similar stories to other users here in that my breasts basically exploded overnight and here I am at about a 34DD/DDD. I'm only 5'0, so the size makes me super disproportionate, and I've gotten unwanted attention since high school. Of course, I'm unable to buy clothes in my actual size because they wouldn't fit my boobs, and my self-esteem really just drops whenever I see pictures of myself. I also suffer from upper back and shoulder/neck pain (I can't even sit in class for 30 min without becoming restless due to the discomfort of sitting up straight), and don't even talk to me about standing for long periods of time.
I get those oh-so-pretty bra strap indentations as well; sometimes I find myself having to actually peel them off my shoulders because they're so pressed down, ugh. But the worst part is probably my posture, which is so terrible I know it causes most of my back pain. It actually hurts to try and sit up straight, that's how long I've been involuntarily slouching...
So I have a consultation for a breast reduction scheduled this Thursday and I'm excited, if not a little nervous. If I'm being honest, my biggest source of stress over this surgery is dealing with the post-op nausea and vomiting from the anesthesia, which I HATE. I don't imagine anyone likes it, but I guess you could say I have a phobia with vomiting, and I haven't thrown up since elementary school. I know there's a bunch of anti-emetics, like Propofol and the motion sickness patch, but I still worry. How many of you had bad nausea afterward? I also take anti-anxiety meds for panic attacks that I used to get in high school. I still get them occasionally for no reason, but something like driving to the clinic the day of surgery is exactly the type of thing to set them off. I hope my doc allows me to take something beforehand.
I did about a 4 month run of doctor's visits with my general physician getting my back and shoulder pain documented, and I even lost some weight to no avail. I've tried the wide-strap bras, exercises to strengthen my back, and pain meds like Advil with zero results, so I'm hoping I've got all my ducks in a row here for insurance purposes. I have BCBS, and people seem to have good results with them, but who knows. In a perfect world I'd have the surgery scheduled for this winter, probably early to mid December if possible to coincide with my school's winter break. It's all a huge fantasy I've been playing out in my head.

Anyway, words of wisdom are welcome. I'll be sure to update again after my consult.
P.S. I'll try and upload pics later when I have a moment. Night, everyone.
