Lazy Laser - New Orleans, LA

Not Worth It
Spent: $1,200 in New Orleans, LA

I did initial research into it after hearing about it from a local news broadcast. The main Zerona website leads you to believe to that you can lose a *minimum* of 3.5 inches from where-ever you use the laser.

However, as many have noted, they actually take 10 different measurements from multiple places all over your body where the laser's "treatments" never reach. You're also prescribed a diet and exercise regime, that alone, would cause you to lose 3.5 inches from somewhere in your body. Plus you're given "diet pills" (Curva) to further aid in the process.

The doctor told me that realistically I'd lose maybe *1* inch in my waist from the treatment. I agreed to this because I know that when I exercise and diet alone I have no problems losing weight.

Despite not drinking alcohol the entire time, moving into a new apt (try that for exercise), having 2 wisdom teeth removed & losing 1 pint of blood, and being sick and eating less than normal, I actually weighed MORE at the end of the treatment than I started. (No kidding.) I also lost 2 inches--predominantly from my legs which I attribute to the 1-2 miles I walk every other day.

What annoyed me the most though was the snotty staff member that heads the office who was rude to me on my 2nd visit, the inflexible hours they keep (if you work, good luck!), and the "doctor" who's never there/busy and doesn't do any of the treatments.

I honestly don't know why I paid $1.2k since I should've just bought the machine and did it myself since half the staff didn't even know how to turn it off and on, or how to position the lasers (I also watched them dance on the ceiling many a time). The doctor is now supposed to "call me" to talk about my "results."

I think I might have had a more effective treatment if I would've had a more "effective" doctor!

Hi CiCi -- Thanks for sharing your story. I'm sorry you didn't get the results you were looking for. :( Do you plan to try any other treatments (lipo, CoolSculpting, etc)?

I might try a tummy tuck in the future based on some results I've seen here on Real Self and possibly lipo (don't know what kind yet). I'm mainly going to focus on finding a doctor I like, who I feel can deliver real results and has a professional staff that cares for my needs as a patient.

I was considering this treatment because I got a special offer to get it done for $1200. Do you mind my asking who the doctor was????

They're in the 3000 block of St Charles near Touro. And $1,200 isn't a "special offer"--it's the standard rate down here. I don't know of ANYONE who's had good results from this that couldn't have been achieved with the weight loss pills, diet, and exercise alone.

Save your money, I wish I had.
