I had Ultherapy with Dr. Pan (Esana in New Haven, CT) on March 20, 2015. Although I had been having fillers injected for many years, I felt as though I needed something else. It seemed to me that it was taking too many fillers to keep my falling face lifted. Surgery was not something I was willing to consider. During my initial consult with Dr. Pan I was impressed with her knowledge and the manner in which she presented my different options. I decided to have the bottom half of my face and my neck done. I also decided to have the Dermapen treatments (I initially signed up for a series of 3, spaced 3 weeks apart). My Dermapen treatments were done by Vicki and started on Feb. 17, 2015.The Ultherapy results – I am extremely pleased and somewhat surprised by the excellent results. I am 66 (from Cheshire, CT) and knew that as far as Ultherapy goes I was at the upper end of the spectrum of the recommended age.My jawline and neck have firmed up noticeably. My skin has tightened. I no longer need fillers. The Dermapen results – I have signed up for a second series of 3 treatments because I am amazed at the results. Although initially I signed on for the recommended 3 treatments I had read that optimal results can be achieved with 4-6 treatments. My acne scares are disappearing, large pores are shrinking, under-eye wrinkles are much improved, skin is tightened and truly glowing – that says it all.Warnings – I think it is vitally important that you have the right provider. Dr. Pan is a skilled surgeon who understands the structure of the face and process of Ultherapy. She knows what she is doing and is careful.Vicki is an excellent aesthetician who is able to achieve tremendous results with the Dermapen. The pain/discomfort/aftercare –None with the Dermapen.. Ultherapy is uncomfortable and may even be painful. Not as painful, though, as some of the reviews suggest. Dr. Pan gave me a prescription for 2 pain pills. I took only 1 (30 minutes before the procedure) because she told me that I could not drive myself home if I took both pills. When she started the procedure I thought “Oh my, I am not going to be able to do this”. As she went on, however, it became more bearable, She will do two passes on your face, both my passes were done at the highest level possible (she will go as high as you are comfortable with). During the procedure she will take frequent breaks if you need them but that was not even necessary. I would say that the pain, with only 1 pain pill, was about a 6 out of 10. I had my procedure on a Friday and stayed in the house all weekend. You will be swollen afterwards. I was quite swollen but by Monday looked OK to go out and about. By Wednesday I had only one small area that was a little swollen.I intend to have another Ultherapy in a year or two (as recommended).I will continue to have Dermapen treatments as recommended (1 about every 8 weeks). FYI – You could stop after the initial 3 treatments because you will see a huge difference at that point.(I also have started using their recommended skin care products because I am so pleased with my results. I find these skin care products much superior to those I have purchased through other medical offices.)note: I might be a little off on the cost of the procedure because my cc charge included skin care products, my memory is that the Ultherapy for the bottom half of the face was $2700 and a series of 3 Dermapen treatments was about $900
