Lipo Left Me with Loose Skin

Not Worth It
Spent: $16,000 in NY

Last year I had liposuction on my ant/post thigh as well as a breast augmentation. After the surgery I discovered that one of my ribs had a "bruise" and bone growth (which is still there) My doctor suggested shaving it off but I did not want to re-open the area. My legs are somewhat in shape...I lead a healthy lifestyle...but there is a large amount of skin and cellulite now located about 4-6in under my buttocks and one of my cheeks is asymetrical. I am very displeased with this result and feel helpless because working out is doing nothing.

I would like to know how to correct loose skin from liposuction if working out is not working. I had lip on my ant/post thighs and now about 4-6in under my now uneven buttocks there is much skin and cellulite. I am very self conscious and do not know what to do about it.

I'm so sorry to hear that, but I can tell you from experience-a lot of it-there is nothing that can be done for loose skin. I've had lipo more times than I like to admit and I've tried so many things to tighten the skin an the backside of my legs and butt. I have a very active lifestyle and workout but nothing has made a difference. I wish they could do a lift like they do the the breasts. What I hate is that people think you look good in clothes but when the bathing suit comes on that is a different story. I'll let you know if I discover anything :)

If it is that excessive, then it can probably be removed, but you are talking about another surgical procedure. I had PAL on April 29 and am about 98% happy with the results. I would have liked my doc to address my upper abs...thought that was the plan so will have to talk to him and a small area on my upper thigh, that could have been addressed more, but overall my results have been great. I am keeping up with my workout program and hope the loose skin (not excessive)improves in the coming months. My husband says he sees an improvement, but he also said he didn't think I needed the lipo. Good Luck

PAL? is that some kind of lift? how are the scars and how was recovery? My skin looks like a few rolls of cellulite under my butt cheeks

PAL=Power Assisted Lipo, it is just another technique with liposuction. It is closely related to the older style of lipo where they once used forceful jabbing motions, but PAL has an attachment on the end of the cannula that vibrates, breaking up the fat and then it is sucked out. I chose this over the others, SmartLipo and VaserLipo because of the risk of burns and I was not convinced that those 2 would give me the results I was looking for. I am bout 6 weeks out now and am very happy with my results. You can look at my review under my user name, I have pics through 4 weeks right now and will post more at 8 weeks post-op.

Also, the scars for PAL are small, about the same size as when I had arthroscopic surgery on my knees, in fact, my doc even used my knee surgery scars for a couple of his incisions. You should talk to your doc about what can be done if you have excessive loose skin.

Look into a procedure call lymphatic drainage, I hear that suppose to tighten the skin. Cost appx. $80-$100 for each treatment. I think it's call Sinergy. That could be spelled wrong:).

Lymphatic Drainage massage helps to pump out toxins from the body. Don't count on it doing anything to tighten skin. That's an elasticity issue.
