After considering breast augmentation for many years, I have finally decided to go through with it at the age of 35. I met with a respected ps recommended by several friends who received saline implants via trans umbilical surgery. I initially was considering the trans umbilical route, but after much research have decided that silicone are the choice for me, which I understand cannot be placed this way.
This surgeon was super friendly, informative, and knowledgeable with more than 30 years of experience (ps board certified of course). However, I get the feeling that his preference is saline TUBA. I just ordered a front close sports bra and some comfy clothes for the big day. Pre-op appt is next week. I should probably try to get my mind back on my day to day activities, but I am so excited it's hard to not think about! Who else is with me? :)
Why not meet with one more surgeon to make sure you are totally comfortable with what you've chosen? Some surgeons will waive their consultation fee if you mention RealSelf, so ask when you call.
Thanks for starting your story on RealSelf and I hope you'll keep us updated!
(Also, I think your idea of calling back to ask how much experience your surgeon has is a good idea. Make sure you get to see several before and after photos, too!)
