I had my first lower ab treatment on Friday the 20th. The shots didn't hurt, however after the medicine started to fill in I did however start to feel really hot but that went away in a few minutes. I bought a girdle as suggested to help keep the swelling in. I didn't take them off until Sunday morning. I did things as usual over the weekend and didnt' feel 100% but wasn't feeling like I couldn't do anything either. I did take Tylenol 2 before the shots. My next appt is Aug 3rd and I was going to do both love handles and lower abs but I think I am just going to do the lower abs after reading all these things. I went to the Houston/Galleria location and the staff is really great - has anyone else been there?

Hello, I go to the Houston/Galleria location as well I will be receiving my 5th treatment on lower abs and loves on July 28. I do see a difference I can't wait until I get re-measured. It does hurt and burn but ice packs help with the burning for me! The girdle was uncomfortable for me the first 2 treatments but now it's better. I guess cause I have less fat. GO AHEAD AND DO BOTH LOWER ABS AND LOVES SO THAT IT WILL BLEND IN......... LOL I will keep you posted. K

I just have one question. I am really thinking about this and reading everyones postings. I will also be going to the Houston/Galleria location. How come everyone's prices are different? Is it based on the number of treatments needed?
FirstTreatment072007 1 Aug 2007
It does all depend on how many sections you are doing. I am not sure if they give everyone the same pricing or if they just size you up and say "hey she can afford more" or whatever. OR it might be due to the fact that the person might not need as many treatments? You can prob ask them and they will come up with something to say.
FirstTreatment072007 23 Jul 2007
What part did you get measured at? If you don't mind me asking what height and weight are you? Also, how many treatments did they say you would need? The nurse told me 6 treatments but the consultant said 9. Who is your consultant? How long do your syptoms last with both procedures done at the same time? I am a little concerned about that myself.

I was measured of course in the beginning and I was told after my 6 treatments which i have 2 more to go and then i will take a 2 month break which will put me at end of october that is when i will come back to get remeasured and then i will start treatments again. I'm 4' 11" and I'm 120 lbs. I was told 6 or 9 depending how my body reacts. I am swollen for the first 2 days, then it goes down but i can't wear jeans on week one by the second week it's a lot better.. My consultant is Tiambe and my nurse is Kathy

I was ready the other comments and came across yours and after reading it I got to thinking. I am 5"2 and 157 lbs. They told me i would need 6-9 treatments too. Your weight, did you start at 120 lbs? Cause I couldn't see how you would need as many treatments as I. Can you help me? Which one do you go to?

I also go to the Houston/Galleria location (actually located near Greenway Plaza on the Southwest Freeway). I'm doing my lower abs and love handles and am scheduled for treatment 5 today. I can see a bit of a difference after 4 treatments. My consultant indicated that full treatment would probably be at least 6 treatments, but could be more because they will keep treating until I'm satisfied. I plan on asking for a status update today to see what they think. Does anyone know how long after treatment it takes for of the all swelling and knots to go away so that the full effects of the treatment are apparent? I've been receiving treatments every 2 weeks, so I don't know if I'm really seeing the full results from the previous treatment before I receive the next one? By the way, I'm 5'9" and weigh 152 pounds. I also exercise on a regular basis and am fairly fit overall. I'm not doing this to lose weight, just to get rid of pockets of fat that have been unresponsive to weight loss and exercise. Deborah

I got my first treatments today at the Galleria area fig. and either I have gotten super strong and don't notice severe pain or this isn't nearly the type of pain that I've seen people mentioning on other boards. I think it definitely depends on which center you go to and the personnel at that particular center. I love the women in the Houston center, I was very comfortable getting the procedure done and I have yet to experience unmanageable pain (keeping my fingers crossed). I'll sign-up so I can post again soon and keep everyone apprised of my progress. I am confident this is going to work for me (and no, I'm not overweight, I work out 4-6 times a week, so just problem areas; abs and lovehandles). KM

Well I am so glad to meet others who are going there. I really think the people are nice and the nurse physiciant (is that how you say it?) the cute brunette that does my shots was really sweet and talked to me until she could tell I reacted well (cause I did start to sweat and had to sit down). What part did the lady measure you at? I myself am 160 and 5'7" and I was 38 1/2 at my biggest spot. Also, how many treatments did they say you would need? The nurse told me 6 treatments but the consultant said 9. Who is your consultant? ****DEBORAH***** You wrote "Does anyone know how long after treatment it takes for of the all swelling and knots to go away so that the full effects of the treatment are apparent? " Well mine were done around 5ish on Friday and Sunday I was feeling less bloated and Monday back to normal. I don't have hardly any knots. It's wierd because sometimes when I get up from my chair at work I can feel them move and I don't know if they are busting or what. I don't know that I can tell a difference or not yet though, I measured from my hip bone to my hip bone this morning to check my own progress. I don't workout alot - most people think I am slim but I have major areas that I need to tone. I need to get back on the workout bandwagon. ***KM*** Wear a girdle because this will help once the swelling starts, if you don't have any swelling then I don't think anything could be happening. The fat cells have to swell in order to burst or whatever - Keep us updated.

Thanks for the reply. I guess my question was a little unclear. What I'd really like to know is how long after the final treatment will it take for the end results to be apparent. Yesterday I received the 5th treatment on my love handles/4th on my lower abs. I asked the nurse my question and she said that 8 weeks after the 6th treatment I'll come back for new pics and measurements . . . I take this to indicate that I'll be able to see the end result at that time and then I'll be able to decide if I'm happy with the results or if I want/need additional treatment. Does anyone else have any information on this? Has anyone reached this point and able to give a first hand account? Thanks. Deborah

deborah, i am at the same point as you and I believe we have to wait those 8 weeks to give the remaining swelling a chance to go down and also the nurse told me it takes 2 months for the pcdc to get out of your system. So i think we will see results at that time -kmccoy

Thanks for the confirmation. Good luck to you with your treatments! Deborah

Oh and one last thought - I am not sure if I am going to do love and lower abs together. I am only 30 and my skin is fairly tight except the places that were really stretched during pregnancy. I am going back in 2 weeks so I really need to make up my mind. WHAT MADE YA'LL DECIDE TO DO BOTH? And by the way I have this post emailed to me so I know exactly when you respond and can respond quicker. I really don't want to put my email address on here for fear of spam
kmccoy 24 Jul 2007
I agree you want as many knots a possible, that means the shots are working..... once you feel the knots massage them out.... so they can break down, i was told that by the nurse.
FirstTreatment072007 24 Jul 2007
kmccoy - did you have to do alot of massaging? What I did on the first night of treatment while watching a movie at the house was lay on my stomach wearing my girdle. I pretty much stayed sitting up anytime after that, but layed on my stomach (which I never do) when I went to bed. I can barely feel any knots now. I can't believe I can't remember the ladies name that did my shots - do you know her name? We could at least use an initial so we know who we are talking about. Umm, also what kind of workouts are you doing? I know you probably am thinking I am crazy for asking this so many times but where did you get measured at? The reason I ask is because she measured me around my biggest area on my hips and stomach. BUT she didn't take any pictures of my lower abs. Did you get pictures taken of your lower abs?
kmccoy 24 Jul 2007
FIRSTTREATMENT 2007 I was measure right at the navel all away around from that point. I don't remember my measurements though...... I don't work out never have been the type cause i am a small frame person. Well i don't do alot of massaging because they are still there right now and will be after each shot, but i was told it helps so from time to time when i'm just watching tv i will massage my stomach. lady that does the shots for me is kathy they took pic of my lower abs and loves kmccoy

Hmm, I am wondering why they didn't take pics of my lower abs. If you go to www.fig.com you can clearly see where the pic's are taken of the lower abs - I wish they would have done that for me. I will be sure to ask for the next appt.

STRETCH MARKS - I read some comments about how the shots made your stretch marks look even worse then what they were before. I am hoping this doesn't happen to me, However where my shots were I have purple stretch marks now but I am hoping that is just bruising. :-)
kmccoy 24 Jul 2007
first treatment, Yeah my stretch marks look bad when the swelling is at its' worst but after it does down, it's the same ole' stretch marks. FYI i take a bath with epson salt after the first 48 hrs and soak in a really hot bath and it helps with the swelling!! Big time. kmccoy

I'm scheduled for my consultation at Fig tomorrow. I also made a consultation appt at Sona Med Spa. Did anyone else get more than one opinion? I'm looking to get my abs and loves done. Can someone give me a price range on that? I just turned 40, had a baby 2.5 years ago and exercise regularly 4-5 times a week. I just can't seem to shake that baby flab. It's very minimal but it's still there and when I saw this procedure, I told my husband, I'm doing it! I have both appts in Sugar Land. Thanks for the feedback, sarthur
It's me (unregistered guest) 31 Jul 2007
I did not get a second opinion. Everyone was so nice at the galleria office that I went ahead and did it there. I think they give different people different pricing. I am doing lower abs and love handles. Let us know how your appt goes. when is your appt at sona med spa? I am firstreatment072007 but didn't have time to log in.

Ok, I just got back from my consultation at Fig in Sugar Land. I want my lower and upper abs done and my loves. They told me I could come in every 2 weeks for my sessions and that I could start today if I wanted. They quoted me $6000 but wait, it was my lucky day so they were going to throw in the upper abs for free so then the total came to $4000. Plus, they did offer a money back guarantee as long as my weight stayed the same as it is now or less. $4000 whew, that is a lot of money so I've decided to take my time and check out some other options. I cancelled my appt at Sona tomorrow only because I think I am going to find a real doctor to do this like some other posters have suggested. I have a consultation appt with Dr. John Bergeron in the Heights on Monday. I've also seen where Dr. Paul Vitenas has been referred on the east side of Houston. That's pretty far out of the way for me but if Dr. Bergeron doesn't work out, I'll make the drive. BTW - I'm 40 yrs old, 5'6, 125lbs and 20 BMI. Not looking to lose weight, just inches!

I sure am glad I got courious and found this site. I would like to share my experiences, I have been at the fig in the Galleria since they started here in Houston. I love the friendly staff and I trust them. I have had 6 injections to my upper and lower abdomen. They told be that I would need to wait for two months before coming back. I am seeing the results. When I went in for the first time I spoke to a lady who actually showed me her before pictures and them lifted up her shirt. It was amazing. I am telling all of my friends. In comment to your concerns about amount of treatment and reactions, ask the staff. They are all VERY educated. I drilled them with questions at the start and they took all the time to help calm my nerves. Now I go in and out in 20-30 min TOPS. It truly is "lunchtime lipo" I will keep you updated...
