Mixed Results with Invisalign for Crowded and Rotated Teeth

Not Sure
Spent: $2,500 in Murfreesboro, TN

I was a 30+ year old patient and did not consider conventional braces at this age. My upper teeth were crowded with significant rotation in the front. I only paid for treatment of the front upper teeth.

When I began the process, I was told that it would take about 6-months. Two years later I was finished. There were multiple "refinements" and they even decided to straighten my lower teeth. This was luckily no extra cost for me. I'm not sure if Invisalign covered it or not, but my Dentist didn't pass it to me. I negotiated that up front that I expected no additional costs.

The process was relatively easy, it just takes diligence. The results were less than perfect. My teeth are probably 80% improved. Most of my close friends and family never seemed to know that I was wearing the trays.

Bottom line: If you absolutely do not want conventional braces, you will be able to achieve significant improvement with Invisalign. Don't expect perfection or a quick process. Layout your expectations in the beginning to the dentist.

$2,500? That was cheap. Very cheap. Dirt cheap.

Judging by our Invisalign cost map, there are some pretty inexpensive providers in Tennessee. Maybe we all need to move there. :)

The cost was based on only straightening the upper, front 4 or 6. This approach didn't work, so they added the bottoms at no extra cost. I was never sure if Invisalign ate the extra cost or the dentist. The dentist commented once that they accidently under charged me. Don't know.
