Mummy Makeover in Thailand

Not Worth It
Spent: $12,000 in Phucket, Thailand

I had my surgery in Phucket Thailand, the main reason for this was financial, big mistake. I can not express enough the frustration of being in agony with nurses who do not speak English. Seriously, an international hospital with nurses that either smile and nodd or look at you blankly.

The money that I saved I am now giving to a surgeon in my own country to fix up what is left of me.....eg weird boobs, horrible TT.

So please learn from my mistake, the companies offering mummy makeover deals will promise you anything to get your money but after that you're on your own. Don't do it to your body in Thailand.

The doctor got his procedures 'confused' and was 'tired'.

Thanks for sharing your story. I think if you opt for a cheap plastic surgery, you have to make sure with the quality. Medical tourism has been growing popular today and Thailand has been one of the countries of destination for it. We may find great plastic surgery abroad but we have to do a lot of searching on it. Language barrier can really be a hassle if you are traveling for your plastic surgery. But there are also medical tourism agencies which offer all-inclusive medical package that includes your own English-speaking personal assistant. So I think that's a big help.

if you do not speak the language then you shouldnt have gone there to get the PS done. you were better off going to mexico or something. thats how people are in thailand, they dont care, all they want is your money. i am not saying it to be prejuduce, i am thai, but i would never go there for any plastic surgery work or any kind of work that had to deal with a hospital for that matter. the only way you get what you want out of those doctors, is to speak their language, be born there, or have a rich family that lives there.

Kate- Thank you for sharing your story. I am sorry that you did not have a good experience in Thailand and what happened to you with your surgery. If you are going to get plastic surgery done in Thailand or anywhere else you have to a lot of research or know someone there to help or refer you. No matter aboard or in Australia. You have to research. Two years ago, I went to have my upper eyelids done and my mother had a full face lift. Our PS is Awesome and I can not rave about him enough. We thought we were going in for just a face lift, which included upper and lower eyelid, rhinoplasty, but we did not expect him to fix her ears and also lipo her neck. My younger sister also had breast augmentation in Thailand but at another hospital. She wanted to go from an A cup to a full C and her PS was not willing to do the surgery due to how petite my sister's frame was and she did not have enough skin. He told her that if she is not willing to go to a full B then he will cancel the surgery. I plan to have my TT and lipo done next year in Thailand.

Kate- I am sorry for what had happened to you but you have to do a lot of research before having surgeries done aboard. I am Thai, but raised in the States.

I am glad you shared your story I think overseas plastic surgery is very risky considering the amount of money saved. Its not worth it. I live in an military area that has 3 large bases. I hear alot of this problem of overseas surgery, they had language barriers, bad results, and just try to follow up once you come back to states. No board certified plastic surgeon wants to try to redo or fix work done overseas. Please ladies, you can find a very resonably priced Board Certified PS in smaller cities in the US,try that first. I know my PS charges under 10,000 for TT ( thats with facility and anesthesia fees, everythings included). Do your online homework before chosing a surgeon.
