Worth It
Spent: $15,900 in Southlake, TX

I'm just over 3 weeks out from surgery ( date set 9/23) and have decided to let everyone in on my experience!!! My height is 5'4" and currently I weigh around 130lb - I work out 6 days a week and have one of the largest stomachs you will ever see ( will download pre photos v. soon)- I spend 99% of my day having to hold it in or else I am in danger of being asked "when I'm due?" LOL...my breasts also point south and are a pitiful reminder of what they once were... My 3 kids are 4,6 and 8 years old ...so finally they are old enough for me to have the surgery... This site is a source of inspiration and so I hope as my story unfolds I too will help those still wondering.... Currently I am very anxious yet incredibly excited...not so looking forward to the pain but hopefully it will be worth it..( am actually quite concerned as to how my husband will cope with the kids ...any pointers out there are so welcome?????) Will keep you all posted.....

Ok so had pre op appointment with PS...feel very comfortable with him..so the excitement continues!!!! He took some pre photos ( that will be available to me later)..so my husband and I are going to take some of our own this weekend!!! PS was awesome..took plenty of time to answer questions...even so, still have thought of some more (typical)..so I'll email him later..Struggling to sleep at night..I guess a mixture of anxiety and excitement...any helpful ideas out there are very welcome!

OK...so after a sleepless night spending too much time on UTube watching tummy tuck and breast lift surgeries, i am in to the final few days pre surgery...I will post pre piccys this weekend.. I have got my prescriptions filled and have started to get the house/laundry/work/kids/husband..stuff organised(no small feat!!) Still working out hard..I am not looking forward to being unable to hit the gym for the next few weeks..worried that my weight will skyrocket and that I'll feel mentally low..still having read many reviews on this site I am sticking to my "it will be worth it in the end" philosphophy...we'll see..

3 Days to go.....can't quite get myself together!! Its probably due to the lack of sleep as much as anything..lots of work/shopping/laundry to do so at least I will be busy...still at the gym every day - I think this helps mentally..hopefully being so fit will help my recovery?...I'll let you all know! From today I am altering my diet to lighter foods and shakes and as suggested by my PS -I am alos taking the stool softeners and added fiber supplements...what joy!!!!

Alright...sleep deprived and as ancy as a cat on hot bricks I have posted some pre photos....there surely is nothing better than a camera to show you what you really look like...never mind thats why I'm finally in for the OP tomorrow!!! Yippeeee... Got the food in, the laundry under control, getting my work done...now I just need a new tummy and boobies...

Sooooo here we are 1 week post surgery.Everything went off as planned.. the hospital, and staff were superb!!My new uplifted breasts are quite simply amazing ( they haven't looked like this since I was in my teens) and even though there is some swelling I am very happy. My extended tummy tuck was great ..apparently my PS corrected my stomach muscles by 4 inches..thats HUGE!!! Unfortunately am having lots of swelling in my mid section which makes me feel as big as pre surgery!!! any helpful tips out there will be appreciated!!!Off to see PS today ..hoprfully he will remove the drains.....they are gettingto be really bothersome!!!

Updated on Oct 6, 2010:
I just had to share my feelings this morning...so I am now 13 days post surgery..thankfully I have had no complications and continue to feel stronger every day..drains came out last Friday and have still been told by my PS to do "very little"..not easy with a husband, job and 3 kids!!!Anyhow took my binder off to shower this morning and was amazed at how much the swelling has gone down..my figure looks astounding ( to me aleast LOL)...need to recharge camera battery (Duh) and get some pics to post...for all you out there on the verge of surgery...be VERY excited but realise recovery ( and results) will take some time dependent on swelling etc...

Updated on 10 Nov 2010:
posting 6 week pictures....results seem to improve every day!!!.Still wearing compression garments as I get a lot of swelling from working out!...not complaining though this expeirence has been the best thing that I've EVER done for myself...I would recommend it to anyone. Will keep you updated in the next few weeks..

Yay for you! You're going to look and feel so much better. Maybe line up some sitters and/or family to help your husband with the kids :), get meals ready ahead of time, etc.

We'd love to see your before and after photos. Excited for you!

that's great! I just had a breast aug. & tummy tuck on the 2nd. I also have 3 little guys ages 5 and under. You'd be surprised with how well husbands can do when they need to! I agree see what your family can do to help him out and maybe bring some food over or take the kids so he can get some rest too. The pain isn't bad especially if you have a pain pump so you might want to ask your doc if he uses these. Oh and also, before and after surgery eat lots of fruits and foods with fiber because you do not want to deal with constipation after undergoing a TT! Keep us posted!
Zoobedoo (19 posts) 10 Sep 2010
Thanks for the tips.Unfortunately my doc does not do the pain pump..but he is confident with his post surgery regimen of drugs!!!! we shall see....
JenD. (20 posts) 10 Sep 2010
My PS didn't use a pain pump either!! I was on Vicodin. I was instructed to take 1-2 every 4 hours, I was taking 2 every 3 hours for the first 3 days. But I had a horribly bumping ride to and from my PS office, the day after my surgery. I link that to my excessive pain for the 2nd and 3rd day. I will say one thing of advice, get up and walk immediately!!! Also gets some protein shakes (you won't wanna eat anything for the first few days). I buy the Myoplex Vanilla CarbControl ones. I really like them! Also drink LOTS of fluids! Good Luck and I can't wait to see pics!! =)
Zoobedoo (19 posts) 11 Sep 2010
My Doc has prescibed Vicodin and Valium...he is very sure that I will be OK!!!! Thanks for the walking asap after tip....I am hoping to be able to do that... I do drink protein shakes as I work out alot...I too love the Myoplex Low Carb ones ( Strawberry my fave)do you think that I will want just the shakes for the first couple of days? Thanks for your advice!
JenD. (20 posts) 18 Sep 2010
Yes!! The shakes will be the only think you will even think about drinking/eating! You may want jello or a banana, but you will be full FAST!! Also make sure you have ice cold water!! It will make ya feel better!
Zoobedoo (19 posts) 20 Sep 2010
I really appreciate the advice...only 3 days to go now!!!I am off to the store today to stock up on shakes for me and treats for the rest of my family!!!!

NJgudda (33 posts) 29 Sep 2010
hey there... how r u doing ? I had a tt with lipo to hips/flanks and lipo/excision to remove my underarm fat... all on the same day as u... 6 days PO and I had one drain removed today. Lower back sore from being hunched over. Hope u r doing good...
Zoobedoo (19 posts) 1 Oct 2010
I am off to see PS today...hopefully he will remove the drains.Feeling that I am starting to stand more upright,so my back is less painful !!!Will post some piccys soon!!

I think you look amazing. My story is similar. I work out alot and consider myself in the best shape I have ever been in. Do you think that helped your recovery process? Are you/did you feel "down" for not being able to work out? How long did you take off work?
Zoobedoo (19 posts) 16 Oct 2010
Thanks for your complement...my shape is getting better every day..will try to post more pics this week at the 4 week point. not working out has been hell..however the first week post surgery you won't care thanks to lots of pain meds!!! the 2nd and 3rd are harder. My PS has allowed me to "walk" on a treadmill and to use only the eliptical machines starting at 3 weeks..I started on Thusday and feel great..I am doing EXACTLY as he said..nothing else( no weights etc...)Will be seeing him this week to see how I'm doing..so I'll let you know what else I can do!!!. The recovery has been pretty easy being so fit..the hardest part for me was sitting back and letting others help meAlso the Doc insisted that I eat 2000 to 3000 cals per day for the first 3 weeks to aid recovery..this was hard and I have gained 7lbs which is whilst only temporary is a downer..also realise some of these pounds will be swell...still have plenty of that!!! Took 2 weeks off work..

Hope your surgery goes well..let me know if you have any more questions...
NJgudda (33 posts) 3 Nov 2010

You look amazing! if m tummy looks anything like yours I will be so happy. Booked fot TT on 1 Dec
Zoobedoo (19 posts) 11 Nov 2010
I am sure your results will be amazing also!....just remember that the swelling will take quite sometime to subside...relax and enjoy the experience..
JenBob (517 posts) 11 Nov 2010
I am having my procedure in 2 weeks!!!! Can you tell me what your major advice or tips would be...like a must for recovery?
Zoobedoo (19 posts) 11 Nov 2010
major advice for the recovery is simple...listen to what your Doctor tells you to do and obey!!!..my Ps is awesome..he told me exaclty what not to do and to keep on top of the pain meds around the clock for the first few days!!!I am so excited for you...your results will be fantastic....if you work out at all I would also suggest keeping up with it until the day before..being so in shape was a big plus in my recovery :)) I look forward to seeing your "after" piccys!
JenBob (517 posts) 11 Nov 2010
Great. Did you take any stool softners or Colace before surgery. My PS told me yesterday to maybe start those a few days before. Did you do any vitamins or bromalian before?
