Almost 2 weeks post op

Went into the doctor's office. They removed the steri strips and examined the incision and my breasts. Things are looking great and no need to return.

I did learn more about my surgery from the doctor.

The silicone leak was not just a leak it looked like a massive rupture, aesthetically my breast did not appear deflated. As well my body had to build up very hard plastic like capsules. The capsules were so hardened and sharp my surgeon had to change gloves a number of times during the case.

In summary, the surgery was uneventful and my results are great.

Words cannot describe how happy I am to have the implants out.

My best to all as you consider what is best for your body.

Let me start by saying I am a very private person,...

Let me start by saying I am a very private person, very few, less than 5 people knew I had implants 26 years ago at age 23.

At the time, 1988, I was excited about my new full breasts. As the years have progressed they my breasts became harder and harder and the implants were inching up my chest.

I can't say I had any pain and I did have an uncomfortable feeling in my breasts especially if I wore a strapless swimsuit or dress.

I thought I wouldn't have them removed as it was an unnecessary surgical risk.

After about 5 years of contemplation, I decided no more.

I consulted a local plastic surgeon the week before Memorial Day weekend.

He completely answered my questions and lessened my fears. We scheduled surgery for 7.7.14.

I tossed and turned many nights with my decision.

Ultimately with prayer and support from my family, I found peace that it was the right thing to do.

I am now 3 days post op. Took pain pills after surgery and into the evening. No pain pills since the first day. I really have no pain.

Took a shower yesterday and back into the compression wrap. My husband unwrapped me and we both saw my natural breasts for the first time in 26 years. We are happy to be natural again.

The doctor told my family after surgery that one of my silicone implants had leaked and there was an infection. The timing of my surgery was just in time before the infection escalated.

This site was helpful for me and I hope my experience is helpful for you.

Be good to yourself.
