Loving my results!

7 weeks Post Op and New Pics!

Today I am seven weeks post op and for the most part am feeling pretty darn good. I still have numbness below my belly button. I also have numbness on my left medial thigh area. It has been improving every week, but is kinda weird. Not sure if any other girls out there are experiencing this symptom. I see Dr. King on Monday, so I will mention that to him. Also, I am still experiencing tightness or pulling which is kinda annoying, but it is not painful in any way.

My energy level I would say is an 8/10. Currently, I am up to walking 25 minutes on the treadmill everyday and I have been doing well with that. I am back to doing all house chores and that has been going fine. Last week my husband any I were intimate and it went well! I think my husband was happy about that!

I still am experiencing swelling, especially after working out, eating or just at the end of a busy day. It doesn't bother me too much because even with the swelling, I still look better than before. I still wear my binder and that helps out quite a bit.

I started using silicone sheets at 6 weeks, so I will let you know if I think they make a difference. My scar is pretty thin, but very dark which is typical at this part of the game. I know it will take a good year to see the final results.

Overall, I am thrilled with my results. I am in love with my belly button. I just think it is so cute. I feel great in my clothes and swimsuits and feel now that my body reflects that of a young vibrant 34 year old. I admit the recovery was brutal, but well worth the pain.

Four Week Update!

Things have been going a lot better! It took a good three weeks before most of the pain subsided from the surgery, so it was a long recovery for me. I knew it would be painful, just did not realize the intensity of it. I am sure everyone is different. My doctor said I was one of the worst muscle separations he had seen in his 20 years of experience!! Crazy!

I am back to doing all house work (i.e. laundry, dishes, dusting, floors) I would highly recommend if you are having surgery is to pick up one of the pincher pick up utensils that you can get at Walmart or most stores. It has been a lifesaver! I use it to pick up toys, clothes, trash so I don't have to bend down. I love it!

Another big thing is to listen to your body. Make sure to have a rest period during the day when you put your feet up. I usually do this when my little one is sleeping. I am a lazy bum for about 2 hours! lol!!! It has made a huge difference in my recovery, swelling and strength.

I love Dr. King. He has been so supportive and nice through this experience. He does amazing work. I love my results and I know it will keep getting better. If you are looking for a Dr. in the Madison, WI area I would highly suggest him!!

I still have a lot of swelling and numbness. (I wear my binder and that helps with swelling and support. ) I know it is going to take time, since my surgery was so extensive. Also, I do have a pretty long vertical scar. It doesn't bother me much. I know it will get better with time. You have to realize you are trading a stretched out stomach for pretty large scars. For me, it was worth it. I am so excited to wear a two piece this summer!!!

Hope all is well with everyone and happy healing!!

I have been really impressed with Dr. King. From our first meeting, I felt confident he would do a great job. He explained things very throughly and was realistic on what can be achieved. His staff was awesome and always made me feel at ease.
