I have always been uncomfortable with my profile. I didn't have the biggest nose I have ever seen, however, I come from a Lebanese family, and inherited the Lebanese nose. Growing up I got picked on here and there for having a bigger nose, so I was always sensative on the subject. I always wanted a nose job, but never thought I would have the guts or money to do it.

One day a new girl came in at work and said she had just gotten a nose job two weeks ago. Her nose looked gorgeous and she barely had any bruising. I asked her questions of the cost and how painful it was. The cost was $4,200 and she said there was little to no pain. I must say I agree with her. The only pain I really felt was after waking up from surgery and feeling the burning in my throat where they stuck the tube down. I only needed vicodine the first day for that. Other than that the worst part is all the blood that drains down your throat the first day or two. I can honestly say my belly button piercing hurt worse.

I am extremely happy I chose to do this and would recommend it to anyone looking to do so. Of course you need to do your homework and find the right doc. but once you have, it is worth it:)

My Doctor:

He specializes in improving middle eastern noses. All of the work of his I have seen looks completely natural. I would recommend him 100%

Thank you so much for sharing! One year later picture – you look amazing. I’m still at 1.5 month post op, and as I noticed it’s a long process to heal, at least in my case.

Wow! You look awesome. Thanks so much for sharing your story and your photos. I'm sure it'll help others trying to decide if rhinoplasty is right for them.

thank you very much! at one and a half months there were still stitches visible on the inside of my nose, as it takes almost a year for all of the swelling to go down. Even a year later, the tip of my nose is a little sensitive. if anyone else out there is reading this who had a nose job, do you know when that goes away? and also, do not worry if even up to a year or longer if stitches come out because there is a line of stitches all the way up and most of the time dissolve, but don't worry they will just fall out. if anyone has any questions on the healing process, etc. please do not hesitate to ask!

It took a good year for the numbness in the tip of my nose to subside. Maybe more.

Wow ur nose came out great! u look awesome. Ur nose prior to the surgery looks similar to mine so I was wondering what did the doctor do for u? Was ur nose profile shorten? was it a closed rhinoplasty or open? was the wide of ur tip narrowed? and what about ur bridge? I need some ideas as to what to tell my doctor when I come in for second consultation since he wasnt much of a talker but more of a listener and its hard to say so much since one needs another person's point of view to help, thanks

the best thing to do is prior to the surgery bring in a few photos and discuss what you want with your doctor. they went in through my nostrils and upper lip. it was closed, most of them are now a days, i believe. i did have my nose shortened. he straightened my bridge but he really did what he wanted to do. make sure you see some work of your doctor. i knew a few people who went to him, so i was familiar with his work. also google your doctor and view his resume and make sure he is board certified. there is also a way you can view ratings of doctors in your area. make sure to talk to people who have gone to your doctor and get their oppinion. search celebrities who you may look similar to and see what kind of a nose you would want. make sure it fits with your face :) good luck- keep me updated!
cheers

It must be a blessing to have found this website and your posting! I am also middle eastern and I am scheduled for rhinoplasty with septal repair on Feb. 25. Your nose looks amazing! I live in the area and I joined this site just to see who your Dr. was... well to my shock it so happens to be the same doctor who I have consulted with, Dr. Warren Brandes! I am so happy that you shared your info. I have not seen his work but have been told by family and friends that he does a great job! So now I feel better about my decision and will not be cancelling the surgery!
I fell off a moped when I was 13. So he made sure to find out from my insurance co. if they would cover the surgery for both cosmetic and functionally and it was approved! Thank you for all your help!

Wow, that is lucky to have found this! I am so happy for you! Do not cancel, I know it is scary right now, but the worst part is waiting for it. Is your surgery at Great Lakes Surgical Center in Southfield? If so, there are some great staff members there (at least during my surgery). Dr. Brandes isn't the most social person or have the best personality, but I believe he is very skilled with noses :)He may seem a little intimidating to ask questions to or maybe seem to rush you a little (as do all doctors) but really take your time and ask EVERYTHING you need to. Also, as a heads up- my cast left a little scar on the top of my nose where it was digging into my skin suring the week I had it. Make sure to call up if you experience the same problem and have them adjust it. I did't know it would scar, but it isn't anything makeup cannot cover up:) Best of luck, be sure to post some pics!!!!

I had surgery yesterday, everything went well. My only complaint is that I can't breathe out of my nose and can't sleep well, how long does it take to breathe out of your nose and I am not in any major pain but just uncomfortable. What was your experience like, did you have alot of drird blood at the bottom of your nose?
My surgery was at Great Lakes surgical ctr. The facility is very nice and the nurses were great!

I meant "dried blood"
