No doctor at vanity has malpractice insurance, because in Florida you can opt out. However, if something happens to you during the surgery, you do not have anything.
The physicians that do not have malpractice insurance set up an asset protection plan in place to protect their financial assets in the event of a medical malpractice lawsuit.
For example, if you went for a surgery and came out with defects, handicapped deformed…well…your problem!

Why would a physician believe he cannot make a mistake?
Everybody can make mistakes, even the best of the best ones.

Why a physician has such a lack of care towards his patients? Because with an insurance the physician is saying that he believes he is human and can make mistakes and if he does his patients are protected and will be able to cover the cost of their treatments.

More about my journey with Vanity in February 2014

After considering back and forth I decided to make an appointment with Dr. Fisher, because I would never set up a surgery without knowing who would do the procedure. You have to feel the energy of the person, because when you don’t feel right normally it is because it is not right.

I called Vanity Cosmetic Surgery one month after my first contact. Well … my coordinator did not worked there or at that position anymore, so I was transferred to a lady named Sheila Fuentes. I had to send again all the pictures and info because they seemed to have lost it.

Sheila Fuentes called me back and said she spoke with Dr. Fisher and showed my pictures and I DIDN’T need a tummy tuck but just a liposuction. That seemed fishy because according to her she showed to the same Dr.
She also let me know that they could NOT do the breast augmentation and the liposuction in more than 2 areas.

That seemed weird because I have been in other offices for consultations and it was never mentioned.
I did my research and what Sheila said was not accurate. You can do the lipo and breast augmentation in more than 2 places. BUT according to Florida law if you do 2 procedures and one of them is liposuction you cannot take more than 1 liter or CC of fat.

So, after all this lack of knowledge of Ms. Sheila I made an appointment with Dr. Fisher because at the end he is the physician and is the one that studied to be one. If somebody can answer my question, this would be him.

I had a consultation with Dr. Fisher and it took 1.5hour of waiting time and 15 minutes of consult. He is funny and sarcastic. I felt he was tired but would answer my questions, and he did answer each one of them. I liked him.

The only thing I found weird was that I asked if I were dissatisfied with the result of the surgery what would he deal with that?
He answered: “suicide is the only solution then.” And after he said: “when time comes we will see.”
Well, I did not find that very professional and I felt uncomfortable that he would not back up his work.

But, they gave a very good price for the procedures I wanted. $ 8550 for a tummy tuck, liposuction of back, inner and outer thighs and breast augmentation with silicone.

I was very happy and paid $4550 and set the surgery date for March 14th 2014.

Well, I had some questions and send them to Sheila Fuentes, my coordinator. She always was very evasive and NEVER gave me a straight answer for anything. I had to work hard to get any information from them.

- I had to ask them my pre-operation directions and care, because at other places they give that to you when you sign with them.
- I asked who would be my anesthesiologist, since this is the one that really hold your life and keep you alive

I will write here my experience regarding the process of finding a PS in South Florida.
Today I am gonna write about Vanity Cosmetic Surgery.

My experience with Vanities Plastic Surgery has not been the best.

I sent them some pictures and all the info so they could send me a quote.

At the end of January, a employee called Priscilla Diaz was assigned to me as my coordinator, so far so good.
I sent her some pictures and asked to be assigned with Dr. Rami Ghurani.
She called me back and said the Dr. looked at my pictures and suggested a tummy tuck with breast augmentation and 2 areas of Lipo. If I put a deposit with them until next Friday (it was a Wednesday) they would give me $500 discount. The total was $ 7000 for the three procedures and the breast implant with silicone not saline.

I never saw Dr. Rami Ghurani; however, he has very good reviews here and before and after pictures! I actually saw Dr. Fisher at Vanity. At the time of my consult, I required Dr. Rami Ghurani but they said he was quite busy and Dr. Fisher could deliver better what I was looking for.
