In Miami... About to have my consultation with Fisher

Hello Beautiful BBL Sisters!
I finally made it to Miami! It is 86 degrees here and sunny! Such a nice change from the frigid winter back home in Chicago. I decided to make this trip more like a vacation since it will be more like a scene from Amityville Horror when I come back here next month. I at the Eden Roc Hotel & Resort, which I must say is BEAUTIFUL! I'm sitting at a table looking out at the Atlantic as I write this. I feel like doing something nice for myself to prepare for the pain and bruises that are sure to come next month with my surgery. So, I'm going to get in some Vitamin D, enjoy the beach, consult with Fisher, interview a few caregivers and check out my options for condos to rent in person. Not quite a vacation... more like a working vacation with copious amounts of fine dining, salsa dancing and alcohol.

As it turns out, I read on this site that Dr. Fisher won't be available for my surgery date of 3/24/15 because he will be on vacation. So, I call Vanity and sure enough it's true! Dr. Fisher will be on vacation from 3/16/15-3/30/15. No one from Vanity called to tell me that my date would be moved, I had to call Vanity! When I spoke to Vanity, on 2/26/15, they asked me if I could set my date for 3/2/15 as I have my consultation set for 2/27/15. There's no way that that would work as I'm only here until 3/1/15 and I had no plans to have surgery at this time. I know that I'm having an elective surgery, but come on! Who the hell can decide to have a surgery with 4 days notice, when coming from out of town?!? That's crazy making.

As annoying as it was, I'm being pretty chill about it because I was expecting the worse dealing with Vanity. I have read about how unprofessional they are and I was prepared for some sh*t like this to happen. Shout out to my Real Self BBL Veterans for preparing me! My new surgery date is 3/31/15 and I plan to confirm with Fisher tomorrow that this is an actual date that will work.

Speaking of which, I could use your help, Ladies! What questions should I ask Fisher during my consultation tomorrow? Any suggestions are warmly welcomed!

Planning for Consultation with Dr. Fisher...

Hi Again Dolls!
The past few weeks have been a blur! I have been totally overwhelmed with work and my crazy life to even think about this surgery, let alone get online to dish. Before starting this journey myself, I used to wonder how it was possible for someone to be too busy to think about this exciting, life-changing surgery, but now I understand it differently. For me, it feels somewhat overwhelming to think about the surgery with everything else that life demands so it's just been easier to dig my head in the sand. Yes, I'm excited about the prospect of changing my body, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't afraid. Honestly, this whole thing scares the s**t out of me.

This will be the very first cosmetic enhancement that I've done. But, it is much needed. I have always been a big girl and I easily place weight in my midsection. Through hard work and effort, I lost 85 lbs on my own. But, now I'm dealing with the realities of my body - losing weight did nothing for my shape - I am just a smaller version of a girl with a large midsection, slim hips and a square ass! No matter how many crunches, squats and thigh lifts I do, my shape remains the same. This surgery feels totally warranted. The prospect of sucking out all the fat from my abs, love handles and back and pumping it into my ass is beyond appealing. But, the fear of the unknown lingers... I keep reminding myself Dr. Fisher has performed more BBLs than anyone in the country. I have been so encouraged and inspired by the detailed accounts of other RH Sisters going on this journey and thrilled with their results. Thank you for your honest & detailed posts, Sisters, they give me courage.

This would be a good time to pay it forward and tell you about my experience with Vanity Cosmetic so far. I must say, that I was apprehensive about dealing with Vanity after reading the reviews, but I have had a positive experience to date. My coordinator, Selena has been fantastic. She has answered all of my questions and returns my calls in a timely manner. She gave me her personal cell phone to call with questions, and she usually picks up on the first try. I must admit, I have only called Selena 3-4 times in the past month, so it's not like I'm blowing her up, but the times I have called, she has been courteous and timely in her response.

Based off of my conversations with Selena, here's a few bits of info that may be helpful for you ladies regarding Vanity's policies:
1- I asked for a detailed explanation - in writing- of all of the areas covered in the BBL procedure, and the document they sent to me said that I would receive liposuction of my abdomen, waist, love handles, flanks, and bra line and BBL. Selena said that the BBL procedure now includes the bra line, before it didn't. She assured me that my entire abdomen and back would be lipo'd.
2- Vanity has a FULL REFUND POLICY if you decide not to go through with the surgery. I received it in writing. The only caveat is, if you have services such as labs done, prior to canceling, then that is deducted from your refund.
3- I asked about the extent of Follow-Up I should expect after the surgery. How many times can I see Dr. Fisher afterwards? Selena told me that any follow-up for as long as I need is included in the price of the surgery. She assured me that Dr. Fisher makes himself available for his patients after the procedure for as many follow-ups as necessary.

I have paid for the surgery in full and locked in 3/24/15 for BBL with Fisher. Also, I set up a date to consult with Dr. Fisher before the Surgery. Vanity's normal policy is to meet the surgeon on the day of the surgery, but that didn't jibe with me. Being new to all of this, I need a little extra hand-holding. So, I'm scheduled to meet Dr. Fisher on 2/27/15 for a consultation.

I'm planning to fly down to Miami a few days before the consultation and scout out my options for recovery houses/nurses in person. Also, I decided not to buy Vanity's package for massage, so I'm planning to use this trip to interview a few massage therapists in person. I'm still up in the air regarding if I should stay at an actual recovery house or go the apartment/hotel route and hire a nurse. I will have my husband traveling with me, so I'm not sure that a recovery house is my best route. Assistance for life (www.assistance4life.com) has an option to have a nurse visit you in a hotel and that's appealing to me. Either way, I plan to look into each option while in Miami so that I'm not stressed the day of surgery.

I will keep you ladies updated on what I find out. Any words of advice or suggestions are warmly welcomed!

Hello Beauties! Like many of you, I have been...

Hello Beauties!
Like many of you, I have been reading reviews on Real Self for many, many months about this procedure wishing and hoping and dreaming that I would one day take the leap into my own booty-full journey. After reading hundreds of reviews and making phone calls to the top BBL surgeon's offices across the country, I finally decided to go with Dr. Fisher in Miami, FL. I found the courage to take the leap - I literally called today and paid for the surgery in its entirety and set up my date for 3/24/15. Whew! To say that I'm freaking out right now is a massive understatement. It's one thing to dream about what it would be like to take the booty-full journey... but it's a totally different thing to actually take concrete steps to do it. In other words, sh*t just got real. Like Really Real. For Real.

According to Vanity, the $5700 fee will include liposuction on my entire back (including the bra fat area) and entire abdomen (upper and lower), I also paid an add'll $500 to add my inner thighs. Because I paid up-front, Vanity said that my garment (the one that costs $120) will be free. Also, Vanity has a policy where I can receive a 100% refund if I need to reschedule or (God-forbid), I chicken out and decide not to do it. In part, the money back guarantee is what gave me the confidence to pull the trigger to pay in full and schedule the date.

My mind is racing, thinking of all of the things that I need to do to prepare for this surgery.

I'm an out of town patient, coming from Chicago. I'm not planning to stay at the Vanity Recovery House (I've read one too many horror stories online about it), so I'm looking for places to stay during my recovery. Any Suggestions?

Any words of advice from you lovely BBL Veterans would be greatly appreciated. So would Xanax for that matter, lol.
