Measurements...
But....I look fantastic!! My butt is soooo cute that I just can't help myself but look at my naked body in the mirror at every opportunity I get. Dr. Salama is a miracle worker...the man is an Angel sent by God Almighty!! Even with my fat arms, I look good. Somehow it still works. I do have to say that I can't wait until I can start to work out again and drop some pounds.
So pre-op my measurements were:
Bust: 43"
Waist: 36.8'
Belly Button: 38.5'
Hips: 42'
Today's measurements are:
Bust: 42"
Waist: 33"
Belly Button: 33"
Hips: 45"
10 days post op, my hips were 50". But I was still swollen and tender. Now I feel no pain although if I try to sit I feel uncomfortable. YEAH...I have tried to sit a few times. I sometimes forget that I am not supposed to. Anyhow, my hip measurement has come down so much (with the swelling dissipating) that it is almost....almost what it was before. The odd thing is that I really really look different from what I have ever looked like before. My body shape has changed like 100%!!! So while my hip measurements have kept creeping down, I'm not panicking. This is a whole new figure I keep staring at and I likeeeee. I do hope it doesn't get smaller though. I kinda like it where it is at right now.
I wore jeans today for the first time. I definitely need new jeans. I need hipsters or low waisted jeans now. My ass is big but not huge. It is like big with a hint of hugeness, for lack of a better description. I can't wait to get back to my country and try on all my dresses!!
Overall I am much much better. I walk a lot. It was a good idea to stay in Boston because had I gone home, I would be working and that would mean sitting down a lot. I had my 5th massage yesterday and truth be told, I love them. I will keep having deep tissue massages for the rest of my life!! I have never been a massage fan. I did love body scrubs though.
So 12 days to go before I fly home and I am having no complications. In fact I am thinking of coming back next year!! Lol! Happy healing. Ladies!!! Good luck on your surgeries those who are coming up!!!
Thank God for massage...
Massage #2 happened on day 6 post op. That hurt too...and I had taken the prerequisite Percs. Felt infinitely better afterwards. I was more flexible, I could bend!!! I really could bend and put lotion on my feet. My feet had been dry and scaly since the day I had the op.
The day before I left I had my 3rd massage. Silly lil me forgot to take her Percs. Because of the pain and discomfort I felt in the previous massages I had underestimated the effectiveness and as a result the real need for Percs prior to a massage. Well...I hurt soooo bad I actually cried. You must never forget to take your Percs. It is torture otherwise. `I creed like a child. And let me tell you, Celia who did my massages was sooo good. She knows her stuff and has had the BBL done herself. She looks fantastic. Actually she was going on leave for her wedding. I wish her the best in her marriage.
So yesterday, Day 11 post op, I had my first massage ( or massage #4 if you are counting per the 10 that the Dr ordered). And guess what???? It didn't hurt one bit! I kid you not. I lay there bracing for a Percocet Free Painful Agonising Excruciating Torture Session....and nada. Huh? What happened? I can take a guess but I'm not sure. If you know, please inform me. I think that the key must be IBUPROFEN. Yes, Ibuprofen. See we are given Percocet which is some form of super Acetaminophen in the days after surgery but never, ever Ibuprofen. Tylenol and Panadol are fine and so is anything with acetaminophen. Ibuprofen, on the other hand, is a big NO. You are not to take any of that. This includes brands like Aleve, Advil and Motrin. Well two weeks or so after surgery you are allowed to take ibuprofen. The minute you do so, your body begins to feel better...much better. The weird pain and stiffness slowly begins to dissipate. With each passing hour, it seems like there was this huge vice that had you in its grip and slowly but surely it is releasing its grip on your body.
If I remember correctly, Ibuprofen fights inflammation. So that is what I think happened. On day 9, I began to take Ibuprofen. By the time I went to have my massage, my skin (which is rock hard where I had lipo) was less inflamed , for lack of a better description. So much so that I felt no pain but actually pleasure and release of tension during the massage. My hard lumpy skin, and especially those stone like lumps in my inner thighs, began to soften during the massage. I had booked a 30 minute session but thankfully this was changed to a one hour session as we went along.
So there you are...massages are hell at first and then become heaven.
Today....
Apart from swollen legs and a serious urge to sit on my butt, I am well. I did try to sit on it. I just had to. But it feels weird. It feels like it is not quite mine. It is numb, it is also tingling sort of. It can hurt once you sit for a few minutes but the pain feels disconnected somehow. Bottom line, this ass isn't mine until it connects all those broken nerve endings.
I apologize for being so bad at selfies. I will try to find someone to take pics of me.
Provider Review
Dr. Salama is an amazing doctor. I only spoke with him the morning of my surgery but that is because he has the most amazing and efficient staff who take care of all the details for him. The ladies Cynthia, Nomie, Nancy, Evelyn, Zuny and Karen are very good at scheduling and and answering follow up questions. The offices, the medical centre where the procedures are performed are up to standard and professional. I found Dr. Salama a calm and confident doctor who did not feel the need to make a sale and did decline to lipo a certain area of mine. That kind of honesty and integrity is important in a surgeon. You can also reach him at anytime on his emergency cell phone. Overall, I would give Dr. Salama 5 STARS!!
