I decided to try Pixel due to having large pores which developed from an adverse reaction to Retin A gel. So off I went to a well known Beauty clinic in Melbourne,Australia, excited about the prospect of having improved skin.

The beautician asked me about my skin and what products I`d been using.I informed her I`d been using Retin A gel for 6 months for Adult acne. She then looked at my skin with what looked liked magnified glasses and said that my skin looked good apart from some enlarged pores on my T-zone. She then went on to say Pixel would give me firmer skin, and even after the first treatment I`d see an improvement. She said i`d need about three treatments spread over 3 months.

The treatment was pain free just a little hot in some areas. That night I just felt as though I had bad sunburn, but no pain.I developed dark grid marks on my face but that was expected.A week later I looked in the mirror and was horrified. The skin around my eye area and upper cheeks looked like old leather and so crepey. My large pores where now worse too,it was horrible. I called my beautician and she said it was probably the dead skin that was yet to shed. She told me to keep slapping on the moisturizer and not to panic.

Well it`s been 5 weeks now and my skin is still crepey, the grid marks are and my pores are huge.Without sounding dramatic it looks like i`ve aged 10 years.I`m just praying that new collagen will start to grow in the damaged areas.I suppose Pixel is great for 80% of people but I just wish I`d never had it done.

Have you exfoliated? If not, you should, the dead skin will fall off and you will probably see the real results. Just putting moisturizer actually keeps the dead skin on your face. A gentle face exfoliator should do the trick. Hope it improves.

Thanks for your reply.I have exfoliated a couple of times over the past 5 weeks, it`s only made the skin more crepey and the pixel dots more noticeable. My large pores are worse due to being split by the Pixel dots.I honestly feel the beautician was too aggressive with the Pixel, especially the delicate eye area.I`m sure there`s only a small minority of people who have had a bad experience with Pixel, unfortunately I`m one of them.I just want my skin to heal now.

I had a similar experience. Had it two weeks ago and my chin and around my mouth have more lines and some darker pigmentation. My chin and around my mouth started peeling first and finished peeling last. Does that mean they were deeper? Will these lines go away or will they get worse???? I am freaked out. Someone please respond with their experience or professional advice.

Oh...and the doctor was a jerk. Everyone in the office played the game of trying to sell me more services as opposed to addressing the situation. It's not bad they said! they were so obvious it was sick.
