Restalyne Vs Juvaderm - Melbourne, Australia

  • Worth It
  • Cost: $500
  • Dr. Lanzer (Melbourne, Australia)

So the first time i had a lip filler was not...

So the first time i had a lip filler was not through this doctor but a nurse who did it privately through a beauty salon. She was wonderful and talked me through everything, she injected my mouth several times to numb my lips (the actual lip fillers HURT so this is necessary, if you're given the option, don't go without the numbers) then proceeded to put in the RESTALYNE. Even with the numbing injections i could still feel the product go in a little and it stung! The end result: she hit a vein and i had a bruise on my lip for s few days (her fault, not the product) but i found RESTALYNE to be quite hard and lumpy, it left little white spots on the inside of my lips and it lasted for about 4 months. I thought that was what it was meant to be like, lip fillers i mean, until i had JUVADERM... So my second time around i decided to try another product. And another doctor. I went to Dr. Lanzer's office and the nurse there did it for me (as he was attending to his plastic surgery patients). She was the sweetest lady, all the nurses at the clinic were so nice and friendly. They didn't need to use the whole syringe on my first visit so they put the leftover bit in the fridge in case i wanted to come back for a top-up, which i thought was fantastic (of course i was going to want that top up!!!). End result: my lips were like little pillows on my face. JUVADERM is more like a gel in your lips where RESTALYNE is slightly harder. I can't say enough good things about this product. Go JUVADERM all the way. So i went back to have the remainder put in (a few days later after my lips no longer looked duck-ish, due to swelling) and there wasn't much of the product left so they put it in without the numbers. And i would not not not recommend it, it was horrible. But worth it. All in all, if you're paying less than $1000 for it (which i think is more than enough, i got a full syringe for $500) i say GO! Get it done, but don't waste your time getting anything less than the best (which is JUVADERM). :D

Great review?

My Doctor:

My rating:

Staff Professionalism & Courtesy

Wait Times

The rating is for the nurse who treated me at Dr. Lanzer's clinic and the doctor who did my second treatment. I didn't need a follow-up so to speak, it was very straight forward and didn't need me to return. I never emailed them and they didn't need to call me so i gave them one star for that. They didn't make me wait long considering there was already 5 people waiting before me (i think i skipped 3 of those people anyway) so the waiting wasn't long at all. Great experience.

To a certain extent: yes. When i had the
Restalyne i had a bruise on my lip for a few days, but had no such thing with the Juvaderm, i know this was entirely the injectors fault, not the product, so who's to say the final result wasn't due to the injector also? I do, however, stand by Juvaderm as a product, i just found it softer in my lips than Restalyne. Both are a winner! But Juvy has my vote :D

Well, so glad to hear you found both an injector and a product you like and thanks for sharing your experience with us all! :)

So glad to hear you got the results you wanted with the Juvederm!

Do you think part of the better outcome was due to the skill of the injector as well?
