How it works
  • Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
  • This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
  • Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.
  • Reviews are only removed at the reviewer's request or if they violate our Terms of Service.

3 weeks PO

I have been slack about updating!
Everything went really well, I stayed one night in hospital. I was enjoying the anaesthesia a little too much and I was hard to wake up, I needed oxygen for a while but actually felt pretty good.
I never felt pain above about a 2 or 3 out of 10.
My Dr doesn't routinely use drains so I was up and showering the next day before going home. I came home in a tubigrip and wore that for the first week, then switched to sports bras. I would guess that my swelling is now 95% gone but I won't be going bra shopping for a couple more weeks yet.
I took pain killers for the first couple of days but they made my head foggy so I stopped them pretty early on. I was back working from home after a couple of days and back in the office after two weeks. I probably could have gone back sooner except that I was dizzy so couldn't drive, I think it might have just been low blood pressure.
I am guessing that I am about a 10C (32C) or D but time will tell :) She removed around 900g total.
Overall recovery was so much better than I expected! I know I have a high pain threshold but still it was no where near as bad as I had psyched myself up for!

Two days to go

I have got my time and have to be at the hospital at 7.15am on Monday.
Nerves haven't kicked in yet because I have been really busy getting things lined up at work before I go on leave, thankfully no one asked for details about my surgery, I think most of them assume I am having a hysterectomy!
I told my kids last night (no detail just that I was getting surgery to help my neck and back), one of them cried, but they both seem okay now we talked a bit.
I have a busy weekend ahead so hopefully won't have too much time to think about what lies ahead, although I doubt I will sleep much the night before.
Any last minute advice ladies?

Dr Kim Taylor was fantastic. I was immediately comfortable with her and felt confident that she would be able to get the results I was hoping for. I stayed at Linley Clinic in Canterbury for one night after my reduction and cannot speak highly enough of the facilities and staff there. My entire experience with Kim, her office staff and the staff at Linley was positive. I was back working within a week and have not experienced the neck and shoulder pain or the tingling arm I did prior to the surgery. I would absolutely recommend Dr Kim Taylor and the staff at ARC, and would encourage anyone with or without private heath cover to talk to them as their fixed price package meant that after Medicare Rebates I actually spent less than I would have with private insurance.
