I LOVE my new look!

Hi ladies,
I'm one week and 3 days post op today. I know that my breasts still have so many changes to go through but I'm absolutely loving my new look so far!

After my last post i continued recovering at my mothers house until about 6days post op, with very minimal complications. I stopped my prescription pain killers at day 4 and even went out shopping with my sister for a new bra on this same day! I got fitted at Bras and Things and was surprised to be told that i currently needed either a 14DD or 12E - though she explained that this was due to all the swelling and that it looks as though they will eventually settle down to a 10DD. I purchased the 12E but already i feel like it's slightly too big. I also purchased two sport bras from Target which are super comfortable.

One of of the biggest pieces of advice i can give is to buy a travel neck pillow to help with sleeping upright. This was so incredibly helpful for me. However in saying that, I spoke to my surgeon a few days post op and he advised that I was able to sleep on my side if it was comfortable and that upright sleeping was not necessary. I'm not sure but i didn't quite feel comfortable sleeping on the side anyway.

Another strange thing i noticed was that i had liquid and air-bubbles all around my chest and as high as my neck area. When i rubbed or pushed i could feel and even hear the 'squishing' around of air and liquid. It was pretty gross but I'm much less swollen now and this symptom has disappeared (thank God!!)

Most of my pain has disappeared however i have been getting pain only on my left breast on the side, and it seems to be much worse at night. I also think that the stitches have bled a little on this side and i'm getting concerned that maybe I've moved around too much and done something to this breast. I have my first post-op consultation with my PS today and will let you all know what he says about this.

The only other negative is that i'm finding it INCREDIBLY difficult not being able to exercise. I usually train every day, it's a huge part of my life, my daily routine, my social life, etc. I have definitely put on some weight despite the fact that my appetite has dropped significantly (due to the lack of training therefore slower metabolism and less need for fuel), however i do recognize that I'm still very bloated and it may also be some water retention. I'm not overly worried about the weight gain though, as i know i'll spring back to normal once i start training again and besides, it'll be a good short term challenge to keep me motivated. For me however it's more the mental aspect - I feel really crappy, loss of energy, anxious and easily frustrated. I'm not usually like this at all and i know it's because i haven't been able to train in 10 days now. It makes me upset and i just cannot imagine having to continue like this for another few weeks to come, so when i see my PS today I'm going to ask him if there is any chance i can do some.....ANY sort of movement without compromising my BA recovery and shape. I'm sure that no weight but just simple reclining bike or body-weight squats can't do too much harm. Has anyone else done this?

Other than the minor pain and lack of exercise, i could not be more pleased with my results! I feel so good naked, they look great in clothes and my boyfriend agrees that they are the perfect size for me! I really hope that they don't shrink too much from what they are right now. Can anyone please tell me how much smaller their breasts settled to from what they were like almost 2weeks post op? Also, despite having much of my natural breast tissue quite low on my breasts, having just a BA without a lift has (so far) seemed to work wonderfully for me, with no sign of double bubble and a very natural tear-drop appearance instead. I feel that my surgeon - Dr. Richard Bloom - had given me very well informed advice and that he's clearly so good at what he does! It's SO important to feel this about your BA!

Hope everyone else is recovering well also! :)

Day 1&2 post op - learning to not be a hero.

I had my surgery on Monday (it's now Wed morning). Everything went smoothly, the nurses at Linley Clinic were very kind & supportive of my needle phobia, Dr Richard Bloom had a pleasant & calming nature & made me feel immediately comfortable in his presence, AND i was extremely grateful to have both my sister & a girlfriend with me almost as soon as i woke up!

My new breasts feel.....rock hard! I didn't freak out because I knew they would appear abnormal at first, and that they obviously have many changes to go through over the next few months. When i first looked down i couldn't really tell that they were that much bigger, however later when i could stand, my sister took some photos and only then could i really appreciate the transformation. At the moment they are pointing outwards more than i would like, & my left boob is a bit larger than the right, but i think this will correct itself as they soften & settle. I hope they don't get much smaller though!

Ok so...my pain was very bearable coming home from surgery, and even on the 1st night, however I'm one of those people who don't accept help or ask for it very easily, and I've really had to let go of this 'hero act' & let my family do...well ..everything for me! My partner's business is super busy, so ive opted to stay at my mother's & sister's house for a week. Ladies - you must have a carer for at least a few days post op because though you may think you can do things on your own, your body will ache & make you pay for it later. For this reason i think, my 2nd night was extremely painful. I literally felt like i had been hit by a truck! My boobs felt heavy, inflamed & sore, my rib cage felt bruised, breathing was difficult, and just moving in any way would cause such hurt & discomfort.

In the last 3 hours i have been icing and taking my pain meds, i promised not to move/wrk anymore & just sit still & relax. I already feel SO much better! I guess a few days of laying low will be ok.

I haven't been able to go to the toilet since before my surgery, so hopefully with some natural laxatives i will soon. Also, i have felt and heard those "squeaky" sounds some of you have mentioned!! Mostly when i rub the top of my bust and even up on my chest under the neck - like loose bubbles & liquid.

I've been wearing an elastic bandeau that the hospital gave me, but am wondering what kind of support i should transition into from this in the next few days?
I hope everyone else is well & thanks for the previous answers!
