I am now 2 days out from surgery and it gets better and better, there is not much pain, only tightness which is a good thing as it reminds me to let my body heal. It's important to other Mums doing this to get help, I have a three and a twelve year old and have arranged that their grandparents care for them until tomorrow (three days out). Then the grandparents are happy to keep helping for at least 7 days out from surgery and my partner is here to help too over the coming weeks. I feel it's very important to let your body heal by resting, drinking water, eating nourishing foods, sleeping and when i feel up to it, a lttle lightbwalking (to get my blood moving). My three year old is 20kg and a big ball of energy so I knew I needed some healing time without her jumping on me at least for a few days and only because I knew she would be safe and cared for and loved and all her needs being met with grandparents - same for the twelve year old.

I am extremely impressed that I didn't have or need drainage tubes when I woke up from surgery. As a mind/body therapist, healer and personal trainer - this indicates to me that my body is not stressing or bleeding much at all. And...breasts look amazing! They are a little swollen now and i know they will settle down and look more natural over time.

In regards to choice of size implant, I agonized over two sizes that were really basically the same size implant - i made sure that I talked through my concerns with my excellent PS and his wonderful PA and the head of theatre nurse who were all so understanding and very helpful and rather than push me any way, they gave me space and asked and answered my questions so that in the end, I felt like the implant size, more or less chose itself! I am thrilled with the result.

I was recommended to see Dr Howard Webster by two separate sources. The people who recommended him were a doctor and separately, a friend who had a friend who had implants by Dr Webster. I only wanted to do this in a really safe, professional way by a member of the Plastic Surgeon's Association and with whom I felt completely comfortable with and who my research and intuition guided me towards. After visiting some other surgeons including interstate and doing much research, I decided on Dr Webster and feel comfortable booking in the procedure. It helps that I have family who can support me in the city he works. He listened to what I wanted and how I felt and wasn't set on his own agenda, he explained the risks, and was very very assuring and professional. Most importantly, I felt safe - as it is important to when having surgery. I found his offices and staff are and were excellent.

After having my second child and breast feeding I would like to have a small to medium natural feeling and shaped breast enhancement via implants. I work in the media industry so it is important this was done well and naturally. I am sharing this story to help other women who want surgery in a way that is true to their values.

Thanks for sharing! Have you had your surgery? If so, what sort of implants did you choose?
