So far I am not worried about the results. I am happy that I had the surgery. My nose is more refined and straight, exactly what I wanted.

After reading all of the other posts, I know it is a long wait before I see the final results..

I just had my rhinoplasty 10 days ago and I am happy with the results. A slight bump towards the bridge of my nose formed after removing the taping because of swelling I suppose. I was told that this is common and not to massage it at this point. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, how long did it take for the bump (swelling) to disappear? Did you doctor have you massage the bump? Also, the tip of my nose is extremely hard right now so it's very pointy. Can anyone who had the same issue tell me how long it took to soften up and look more natural?? I can't wait till some of this swelling goes down! Thanks!

Question:Swelling created a bump on nose/tip of nose is very stiff? Answer: Certainly, in the initial postoperative period, I would heed the recommendations of your surgeon since the surgeon knows your nose the best at this time. Usually, post rhinoplasty findings will evolve or change with time. After ample time, if there are undesirable contours, corrections may be necessary. It is normal to have swelling of the nose following rhinoplasty. In general, I start to assess my results at one month post-op with repeated assessments at 3 months, 6 months, 1 year and then at yearly intervals. The greatest changes occur within the first 3 to 6 months. Thereafter, the changes are usually subtle. Unless there is a considerable gross structural deformity, 10 ten days is too soon to be critical of the outcome. Again, it is best to initially address your concerns with your surgeon.

You need to talk to your surgeon again and believe what he/she says. Do not trust strangers on line. What you are experiencing is entirely normal at this point. Please follow you doctor's advice.
