Like a lot of other ladies here, I've been...

Like a lot of other ladies here, I've been stalking this website for what seems like forever. I thought I might share what my experience has been like thus far. Feel free to leave me any questions and I'll answer them to the best of my ability :)So I'd wanted this procedure literally forever. I'm 5'6, around 140 lbs. I wasn't overweight, but I had a little bit of a pooch on my lower stomach and my thighs have always been a problem area for me. Also, I've always had a major pancake butt, flat, and seriously lacking fullness on the sides. At first, I thought Dr. Jimerson was the doctor for me. I called to make a consultation in July and was informed I'd have to wait until January for an in person consultation, or I could wait a couple of weeks for a "cyber-consultation." I opted for the latter. Dr. J is a great guy, very polite, but I felt the experience really wasn't personalized and I couldn't help but kind of feel like a number since the consultation could only be for "x" number of minutes and so forth. Then I decided to go for a consultation with Dr. Okoro. The experience could not have been more different. I would have had to wait over a month for an in person consultation with Dr. Okoro, or I could go for a consultation with his assistant, Jenny.Again, I opted for the latter. When I'd looked at before and after photos online, I'd initially preferred Dr. J, since Dr. Okoro's technique seemed more subtle in the booty area. However, the girl who was working the front desk at Dr. Okoro's office was 3 months post op and DAMN. I'd never seen anyone in person who'd had the procedure, but this girl had ass for days and she looked amazing. She still looked natural but it was definitely hard not to notice how perfect her bum was while I followed her to the room Jenny would see me in. Anyway, Jenny answered all my questions and then some. She was extremely polite and realistic about what kind of expectations I should have about the particular procedure.Typically, liposuction is performed on the upper and lower abdomen and the back, and fat is grafted to the butt and hips. Jenny suggested I also get lipo right below my bottom, or what's called the "banana roll" after I told her how much I hated this area.I set my surgery date for the 5th of December and secured the date with a $1,000 nonrefundable deposit. 2 weeks before my surgery I had my pre-op appointment with Jenny and Dr. Okoro. I'd saved up some more money by this point and decided I wanted to get lipo done on my inner thighs as well. It's weird to think this was the first time I'd actually met Dr. O. He gives off this vibe like you've known him your whole life, a genuinely nice guy. You can tell he has your best interest at heart. I knew I was in good hands. On the day of my surgery I didn't get nervous until he started marking me up. I got a little faint since I hadn't had anything to eat or drink since midnight the night before. Again, Dr. Okoro was more than accommodating in making me feel at home and easing my nerves. Before this surgery, I'd had a BA and didn't take any pain meds after the first day so I considered myself to have somewhat of a high pain tolerance. MAN, was I wrong. When I woke up from my surgery, I was all kinds of out of it. My mom and Jenny stood me up, actually I'm not even sure if it was Jenny or my mom, but I digress, I had to go straight back down. I was so dizzy and in so much pain. Most of the pain was coming from my abdomen. Somehow I made it back to the car and back to my house.Getting out of the car was a journey in itself. I've literally never felt so much pain. I would rate the pain from my BA at a 3-3.5 on the worst day; this was a solid 8. Each time I'd strain any muscles in my abdomen, which is a lot easier to do than you might think, I felt like the life was literally being drained out of me. If you're concerned about how gross the drainage will be, let me tell you, it is Gross with a capital G. The drainage from my lower abdomen was undoubtedly the worst. The next day was a similarly hazy and full of pain. I slept pretty much the entire day, expect for getting up a few hours to walk around or going to the bathroom. Dr. Okoro called me the 2nd and 3rd days after surgery to check on me but I missed both his calls since I was sleeping. I still appreciated the gesture.Around day 3 or 4 the drainage had completely stopped, but the pain was still pretty intense. In addition I was insanely swollen on just about every part of my body. Before my surgery, the widest part of my hips/bum measured around 37 inches. On day 7, my ass measured 46 inches. I literally could have balanced a cup on my ass. It was huge in a circus kind of way. My waist measure 29 inches before surgery and measured 28 inches on day 7, which was discouraging but understandable since everything was so swollen. The scariest part was how swollen my…ahem…"lady parts" were. Nothing could have prepared me for that. Thankfully that issue resolved itself around the 8th or 9th day post op.On day 9 post op, some of the swelling in my abdomen began to decrease. My waist measured 26 and my hips measured 44 inches. The second week was exponentially better as far as pain and soreness goes. So hang in there if you're struggling in your first few days post op!Today it's been 2 weeks and 4 days since my surgery. My waist measures 25 inches and my hips measure around 43 inches. I feel great and I love the way body is looking. The only thing I'm struggling with is this damn compression garment. It's like the unsexiest pair of spanx you've ever seen in your entire life, AND you get to wear it 24/7.  I get my stage 2 garment sometime this week. I'll be keeping you ladies posted on my progress.
